Can you take a screenshot of the error? Also really double check to see if you do have any kind of anti-virus software installed. Especially if it was a pre-built system there will be software installed on the computer.

I built this pc myself, no anti-virus has been installed.
I still have my client installed from beta 4 (I don't want to chance trying to redownload).
Here is someone else's screenshot (from what seems to be an earlier beta, but it's exactly what I was seeing in phase 4).

Ouch you are using the very old client. The Launcher version should be 2013.08.22.0000.0001.
Firstly uninstall/delete any folders/files to do with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on your computer and download the correct client here: http://sqex.to/ffxivgame
Sorry about that, Zelley. I just went by the screenshot and my mind when into autopilot.
I checked google and other resources and the large quote I mentioned, seems to the one thing I could find. Have you tried to throw a telephone call or webchat to the support team of Square Enix?
Bump, hoping for an official response.
Most people I've seen with that issue had a corrupted install that required a uninstall and manual delete of the folders left over in program files and my documents. You can backup macros or SS or whatever from documents and even save your game folder from program files. Re-install the launcher and move the game folder back and you should be ok without having to do a full download.
Zelley just a question but how unstable is your internet? It's plausible that the the patch is getting corrupted as it's downloaded.
You might want to go to My Documents -> My Games -> Final Fantasy XIV - A Real Reborn -> downloads -> patches and see if there is something there that can be torrented
It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved. If this does continue to be a concern, please create another thread to further discuss resolutions or contact the Support Center at support.na.square-enix.com for assistance.
