Patch Issue from Alpha/Beta -- Has it been resolved?

Hello, I'm just wondering if you have handled the issue many of us were having with patching the game. I ended up having to download the beta phase 4 client from a torrent. Before that, I had to have a friend upload the game content to a file sharing site so I could download and play.

My exact issue was:
After downloading patch A, my computer would attempt to install, then the patcher would say an error occurred and to try again. I would re-log in, only to have the entire 1.5gig patch re-download. My computer ended up downloading (over two days) patches A-C. I got stuck on D (wasted roughly 6 hours trying to re-download & install it over and over).

I would really like an answer on this, now that I am a paying customer. My main problem with this is: Will I be forced to torrent and/or have friends upload future patches for me? If I didn't have these resources available to myself, I wouldn't even be able to patch/play the game. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't compensate me for time lost while looking for other methods of download, or the many hours/days it would take for me to constantly retry downloading the client.

Would you be able to confirm as to why you didn't download the client from the official page?

I spent downloading the official game last Friday night (starting at 5pm, giving up around 11pm) and Saturday (starting at 8am until about 2pm eastern). Downloading Patch A through C took constant tries Friday night. Patch A would download, go to install, error out, then leave a message up on my screen to click okay. This would log me out. I would then close and re-open the launcher so I could download the patch. After logging in, it wouldn't restart where I left off at attempting to install patch A, it would restart the entire patch A download (roughly 1.5gigs).

Patch D never installed over my trying from 8 am til 2pm. When I got to 2pm I got frustrated and decided to torrent the full download (which I found a link on reddit).

What I'm scared of is, if they patch the game (which they obviously will, it's an MMO) and I lose hours/days of play time because I cannot download the game through their client.

What can confirm for me as to what Operating System you are using? Also what anti-virus?

Windows 7 home 64 bit.

No anti-virus.

Promised connection speed from ISPN ? (most likely not the issue, but have to ask )
What Antivirus you are using ? (BullGuard is an issue due to Browser protection which needs to be disabled )
What Firewall you are using ? (ZoneAlarm is an issue due to Browser protection which needs to be disabled)

Have you tried to simply right click on the launcher and "run as administrator"?

So if I get it right, the launcher just stops downloading and no error is provided? Do you know if your internet is capped per month or have you noticed a slow down in your connectivity since this whole situation started happening?

My download speed is 50Mbps down/5Mbps Up. No cap per month. I would download the patches around 2.5-3.5meg.

No anti-virus.
No firewall.

I have it set to ask me to run as administrator every time I try to launch the game.

The exact error was errorcode: [11006][20641][20643]

I found this thread, which may help. I can't promise anything, but I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

"I had this problem Friday. Your client will still attemt to update even though the beta isnt active. Once you're patched up if you click Play it will give you an error that says "unspecified". This is because theres supposed to be an English error there but they never put it in. The error is correct if your language is set to Japanese. Its supposed to say the beta is not currently active or something.

To resolve your problem, go into your root drive\users\your user name\my documents\my games\final fanasty xiv: a realm reborn (beta)\download\ or I think its \patch\ (im not on my home computer so im going off memory here) and theres folders with what looks like random alphanumeric names and should be a file called GameInstall something. Open that GameInstall file in Notepad and look at the path of the latest entry on the list. Go rename that folder to \whatever_old\ and restart the launcher.

Also try closing everything you can before running the launcher, web browsers included. No joke.Nothing but the launcher running. Disable your anti-virus too.

Now just to note, I did that several times and got the error before it worked. It took me about 5 tries before it updated error free. I'm pretty sure that somewhere along the download gets corrupted and the error we're seeing is a checksum mismatch error. Of course since we're English we dont get a meaningful error, just cryptic numbers, so its just a guessing game as to what is actually going on.

I have a feeling a lot of English speaking people will see this upon launch and immediately be reminded of 1.0. The devs have not aknowledged this error and its not that uncommon. I have no doubt it will make it to release and they will blame the user's machine without investigating the cause of it.

Key words right there are: "Once you're patched up if you click Play it will give you an error that says "unspecified"

I was not patched. It would fail before installing the patch. There was no play button because the game was not downloaded. I appreciate your help so far, but this wasn't my problem.
