Complicated set-up situation. Help?

I can't remember where, but the dev team has stated that the PS3 version will only use the PS3 UI. You can use a mouse and keyboard, but you can't have the PC action bars or micro menu (the icons at the lower right). Not sure if you can use the mouse to click the actions in the cross hot bar, but you definitely can't use the keyboard for those.

Under Character Configuration there is an option under Chat Mode Settings that says "Enable direct chat." Unselect that and it will quit doing that.

Oh, that kinda sucks....should be able to put up the PC hotbar and use that if you want. Especially since some people would use a PS3 if they were away from their PC for some reason.

I do remember them saying that this is the case for now and that it's possible they may make PC UI available on PS3 later (but no promises). This is what I vaguely recall. I could be wrong. :/

Oi, well...

I did fire up my PS3 a bit this weekend. Walking around is possible using the KB. Other commands like the letters M (map) J (journal) C (character), Spacebar (Jump) etc. are usable on KB. This is possible when you uncheck the box so that when you press a letter it doesn't just type it into the chat box. Setting "legacy" controls is possible although I'm not sure what it accomplishes. I guess it is for the up/down/right/left arrows to be your camera (my preferred). I did plug in a mouse and it did work. Probably could drag and drop with that, tho setting up hotbar not that difficult with controller.

I see no way to use the cross-hotbar buttons without the controller. I don't see a way to play on PS3 at this time without using the controller. I didn't try very much because it's super awkward for me. Just went to adjust my screen resolution and picture size per the Community Rep posts about doing that. Made the appearance MUCH better (still pure crap compared to PC, and I have an adequate - meets recommended - PC).

Unless your sis wants to get used to a Controller setup, I am not seeing how this option would work for you guys, Pun. I do hope later they allow us to import the PC UI to play on PS3.

Those wanting to try out PS3 should definitely watch the 20 minute video on the UI/Controls made by Yoshi/Foxclon and check out the post about how to fix your resolution and screen size. Both very helpful.
