Complicated set-up situation. Help?

Okay, so I'm a long-time player on the PC. I intend to keep playing on the PC.

But I want my sister (who doesn't live near me at all) to play with me, so I'm going to buy her the game on PS3 and pay for her monthly sub.
But if she ever visits me and still wants to play with me, she would want to use MY PS3. Will she just be able to bring the game and play on her account on my PS3, or would she have to bring her WHOLE PS3 with her to my house to play?

I also considered that during the times she ISN'T playing, I could use that second account to double-box. Would I be able to use the account that's linked to her PS3 to log in on my computer simultaneously with my account?

Will they lock the account for 'suspicious activity' if it logs in in one state at one time and another state at another time?

*EDIT: Also, she has to use PS3 because she doesn't have a PC, but I think she'd prefer the keyboard/mouse controls. Can a keyboard AND mouse be used with the PS3 and with this game?

To avoid getting the account locked I would recommend setting up the one time password key.

If the ps3 is set up like the xbox was her SE account will be linked to her PSN. She should be able to log into PSN and then get on the game at ur place.

This would obviously be exceedingly inconvenient if I wished to use the account to double-box during times she isn't playing. So I guess also using it to double-box is just out of the question then.

It's not out of the question if you don't attach a security token on it. Yes, it does lock you out when it detects a new IP address, but its just a matter of changing the pw from there. Next time she visits, it won't lock her out anymore, since it's already detected the IP. I've traveled quite a bit back to my mom's for the holidays and have no trouble. It only locked me out the first time I tried to log in from her place.

She can play on your ps3 as long as she signs into her PSN. Right now me and my roomie are playing beta this way (both of us got Ps3 beta codes, but only one software is installed)

When I want to play, I just switch to my PSN and play. When he does, he just switches to his own. You can save PSN profiles to your ps3 to facilitate this process too. Hope this helps!

I think the others have answered your other questions (I definitely second the Security Token recommendation - it will save you many possible account headaches).

As for the KB/Mouse, I sure hope so. I play on PC only as well, but will have it on my PS3 as a backup system. I don't have a mouse for my PS3 but I guess I could find one around the house somewhere. The only thing that is throwing me is that it will still be the PS3 UI (which has the cross-hotbar setup, with the controller icons (Triangle, Square, etc.). I don't know if at this time we will be able to have the PC UI on the PS3 version. Also, I assume we won't be able to choose the "legacy" KB setup as we are on PC. This could be an issue for me as well.

I think I will give this a try in this next beta test (trying to play on PS3 with KB, maybe mouse) (since hopefully this beta phase will be longer). I know I will be stuck using the PS3 UI which may not be effective and could be confusing. I will let you know what I find out!

Have you watched the PS3 video Yoshi made? I've watched it a few times. It's very informative. Especially for someone (me) who has little idea how to use a controller. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/blog/post/413

I've been locked out from my own desk. If you have a dynamic IP, it can happen anytime. There's also sheer account security using the one-time password. Personally I'd never go without one again. If this game takes off like we all hope it will, there will be account thefts like in XI and no one wants to worry about that. If you want to be able to log in both places, you could just have the Phone App 1-time PW and have your sister text you the code when you're ready to log into her account. Just a thought.

Umm I didn't look to experiment too much with the controls but when I played the ps3 version with a kb + m plugged in, it was only able to type text and click on screen objects. Any button I touched on the kb would just automatically start typing something out as opposed to pressing enter to start typing. Not sure if that could be changed or if that was just a default setting.
