Add Ability To Report Bugs In-Game

Seriously though, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't GMs take bug reports? I seem to recall reading that FFXI GMs did (especially the kind of graphical glitch that rendered you stuck in scenery), but I'm not sure that FFXIV's ones do as well.

If that happened with FFXI, I don't understand how I could fall through the floor in Kazham 3 times and it wouldn't be fixed.

I am a more efficient bug reporter when I can report them as I see them and continue without ever leaving the game. I probably submit less then half as many bugs when i have to write them down or remember them and report them when I am done.

+1 for In-game bug reporting!

Some advantages to in-game reports...they can automatically capture the time, relevant logs (as opposed to us manually copy/pasting them), capture extremely specific coordinates, connection information, system information, etc--things that we manually have to copy/paste into bug reports on the forums.

But in the end, it's really an issue of convenience. People are more likely to Menu->Support->Report a Bug->I am Stuck!->Yes than to come all the way to the forums to post a "Hey, I jumped over this rock fell into the earth at X:189237.471854 Y:4192098357.94871324 in Gridania."

Hey, I didn't say that the development team would actually act on bug reports, just that you could tell them through GMs. ;)

But seriously, I confirmed that the FFXI ones are able to accept bug reports, but of the 'stuck in scenery/can't move' variety as it's clearly stated as such in the game's manual. So unless SE has changed their GM policy in the meantime I'd presume the FFXIV ones are the same (luckily I've never had to call a GM in either FFXI or XIV so this is a big assumption on my part.).

Pretty much this, I remember beta testing for The Secret World. I swear I must have stopped every 10 steps to submit a report for one bug or another. FFXIV Alpha/Beta? I browsed forums until I saw a topic or comment relating to the most annoying bugs and submitted them or added my experience to a pre-existing post.

I would prefer to have both, in-game and on the forums bug reporting so I can do the in-game one when I run into any bugs and the forums for feedback and huge bugs.
