Yeah I don't really think the second one applies, but I didn't notice that last one. Makes sense now. I appreciate it, I was worried that we couldn't mention other games during discussion in future posts on the forum.

As are all threads questioning the mods authority.

We really do need an "off-topic" or "general gaming" sub-forums here.

That being said, the only thing that irked me about the discussion was the claims that quest-leveling was responsible for the downfall of several MMOs post-WoW. That's like blaming the catering guy for the downfall of a mega-corporation that has horribly incompetent managers, CEOs and CFOs.

I never want to see an off-topic board here.

It's because people refuse to understand what the one who stated that were talking about. Many were talking about the quality and the fact the majority of new MMOs, mainstream or not (most only seem to know about mainstream MMOs) were the exact same routine, which means people were getting bored, that is what people were talking about.

The OP herself was talking about the quality of quest based leveling and used Tera as an example, which is perfectly acceptable as she had concerns that the quality of quest chaining would be low because realistically, we can't expect 400 mini Final Fantasy game storylines for leveling in basic questing lol, it's just unrealistic and why she hoped SE would show extra care for it compared to most MMO developers.

It wasn't until the usual few attacking anyone who doesn't praise SE every step of the way and their decisions chiming in and flinging insults which is when reports likely went out and mods ended up closing it. They left it visible because until then it was a good discussion.

I'm more in favor of "general gaming" myself. I still remember the fun we had with the old "redesign bosses from RPGs into raid bosses" thread. People asking for PC advice and commenting on other games, too. That sort of thing.

It was a good discussion, until some people had to start taking it all personal and got their panty hose into a bunch.
