Regarding Forum Rules

Recently a thread was closed due to comparing XIV with another game. I didn't realize that was against forum rules as I couldn't find that myself mentioned in the Forum Guidelines. I'm sure I must be overlooking it so I was hoping someone could point me in right direction.

Mods can change the rules as many as they need to. It would stop people from flaming the forums with their opinions on other MMOs.

It's just a new rule though.

But I think the reason why it was taken down was because there was a flame war going on and it stopped relating as much to FFXIV as it did about other games. Since more then half our threads have us comparing one game to FFXIV or one feature to FFXIV lol "GW2 does this, WoW did that, we should improve it this way and put it here".

Yeah I don't really think the second one applies, but I didn't notice that last one. Makes sense now. I appreciate it, I was worried that we couldn't mention other games during discussion in future posts on the forum.

Posting content that deviates from topics concerning FINAL FANTASY XIV.

If it's in comparison I don't really see how it deviates.

Posting content with the intention of criticizing either Square Enix staff or specific individuals.
