And they are all crap.

And I have personally heard of Runescape out of that list, they are not popular around the world, if everyone in for example China, it would mean world wide it would be more popular than WoW even if no one has heard of it, even if it was never released outside of China, therefore straight popularity is meaningless unless it says where the players are from.
WoW for example was released worldwide, FFXI was, FFXIV was and they were either popular or extremely hyped up p2p games so the subscription method works, 100k subs at $10/month = $1,000,000 every month, or $12,000,000 per year, from one game if that is not worth it, then nothing is. MMOs are an investment, you plan for long term profits, not the instant profits of the single player games.
they would be absolute fools to go FtP, i don't care how many people whine on the forums. if the games falls to 15,000 people thats still $149,850 a month in revenue and that's if there all legacy. if the game is struggling to bring folks in reduce the sub price make it 5.99, cashshops are gimicks nothing more and nothing less. you see cash shops only work if people are interested in the game, im not going to shell out 30 bucks for a pair of snurble slippers for a game im never going to play.
besides for 9.99 a month i can gut and craft my own pair of snurple slippers, the way it should be.
Come on now to some people who simply post rude remarks when the op is supporting the game. If you don't have anything good to comment beside "not again" or "gtfo" why bother? I understand you frustrated because they created a new thread that's been recently 2-3 other same sorta topic but he's supporting p2p and FFXIV!
Meh but whatever.
You know, there was a time when people actually had these things called discussions on forums. They used things like well-thought-out arguments and civil demeanors and logic, stuff like that.
Nowadays, it's just one intelligent post with a bunch of people mocking him for doing so.
Popular for casual players. Hardcore players don't really play browser MMOs.
Number of accounts total is not nearly as important as active accounts. Most f2p browser MMOs have a bajillion account holders and a small fraction of those that actually play for more than 5 minutes.
God no I don't want f2p.
