This is Square Enix, prepare to be depressed.
I'd really prefer not to get chased for 5 minutes straight until I can change areas. I'm a cautious person by nature, but shit happens. (aka the inevitable goblin aggro while you're fighting something else, I'm looking at you FFXI)
If speed runs for dungeons are going away then maybe people might feel a little more compelled to clear trash in the new dungeons. Otherwise, the exception to the above would be I would want anything inside a dungeon to follow you until you or they are dead. Darkhold was the most annoying thing ever to me and I don't want to see mechanics like that again.
you kinda havee to have leashing if you're not going to have S/I. However, in most games where this happens, the enemy becomes un-hittable while it's returning to its territory, making it harder to abuse.
While true, in XIV they're more of the: "*Chases for 3 feet and stops "Eh screw this" *sits back on couch and watch TV* variety.
So while leashing always exists, its pretty severe in XIV.
I want to, but every single group I've been in want to leash them. So sad. =/
Same in Castrum Novum. About a week ago, some LS mates and I were camping and killing the first H1 the right way, and along comes another group and ninjas the H1 so they can leash it. So freakin' lame.
