Panorama's of the end of the 6th Astral Era.

Just checked these out - awesome - and thanks, and great idea! Ul'hah one is definitely the best so far. It's be nice to get something like that of the landscapes of Black Shroud and La Noscea.

On that note, one of all three nations -- themselves centered, obviously -- would showcase the nation itself, plus its environment. Like maybe looking towards Ul'dah from Black Brush, for example.

And there we go.....Ayther Factories in Northern Thanalan completed and uploaded (Pano #8)! This one was a bit harder. :X Either large angry "I'ma kill you dead" mobs in the way....or gates preventing me from even getting close. Blah!

And that makes Limsa from the outside....facing towards the city (#9)! *Yawwwwnnn*

I create them using an array of about 20 or so pictures. I start facing north, then simply take screenshots in a sweeping motion from left to right, then face south and do the same. After the initial "horizon" pictures are taken, I angle the camera up, and do the same sweeps again in order to capture the sky (keeping some of the horizon in view).

As for tools, I use a tool called Hugin (http://hugin.sourceforge.net/) that then pretty much automagically stitches em' all together! Since the screenshots don't have aperture information though, you have to manually set that (60 degree's works spiffy). Then you just have it align....and tada!

There are many places I'd like to capture as well. I wish we could go back and have the aurora and shooting stars, or earlier weather again (perhaps if they keep the servers up after Nov 11?). The current Dalamud is ominous and fitting of the times, but we have no clear skies anymore.

I use a gamepad and so the camera always resets to horizon level when I let go and this has been a bit of a challenge for making panoramas. Perhaps I should try it with a keyboard to see if I can angle the camera up and leave it that way while rotating left to right.

I use a gamepad too, so getting it to angle up is a bit of a challenge for me also. But the nice thing is that it doesn't have to be absolutely PERFECT! The software will just happily stitch away, and as long as you have enough of a skyline in view across the entire "sweep", you'll get a nice skyline in the final panorama. :D

These are great but would it be possible to get PNG versions (for those of us who don't mind big file sizes and would like a format that's a little less susceptible to lossy corruption)?

I'd like to see one of that circular ruins area in Black Shroud, or of the Sylph village. Also inside Tam Tara.

Also, you should do /names 'cause i think the mob names detract from the quality of the pics.

The 7th is ridiculously cool. I like how you managed to include Atomos on the side there.
