it's just some arbitrary rules I thought up at the spot to illustrate the ridiculousness of the OP's arbitrary rule :P

Nel there will be across the board reduction in gil come 2.0. The only thing that will slowly lower in time will be the market wards or whatever we'll be using then. So if a person has used this to their gain and has max gill they're be losing 900mil of it when 2.0 comes into play. There's no reason to do anything at this point in time since the game will be going down in 40 days not including today or the day it goes down.
I like to look at it from this aspect.
1. Any other company the game would have cash shop and be done with it.
2. They were cool enough to create a new game for us using similar models for characters/play
3. They could have said "New game - new characters" and made us all start from scratch.
4. I lost all my money $.$; and I earned legit. Was this before or after many of the stupid large amount of money you could earn at the start of the game?
5. You got to play the game for free for months, eat the gil lose or fork over SE some money and try bribery.
TL:DR
At least we aren't starting from LV 1 so stop crying.
Here's the thing. The Markets have long since been shot to hell and back. While the gil generated from the latest fad is substantial. I wonder how it stacks up when compared to over two years of this game hosing players down with gil as reward for doing almost anything.
They have a plan in place already for dealing with the sea of gil that's out there. this new flux of gil will fall to it as well.
Enjoy your ill gotten gains then. Seems like people would rather cheat then play legit. I'll be over here earning my gil the old fashioned and unbroken way. Least I know every gil I make will be damn well earned.
Hmm, it's a bad attitude to convey you didn't take advantage of a game mechanic that was unintended?

I'm right there with you Nel. I haven't even participated in the Atomos event yet, mostly because I'm doing other things. I heard about the "exploit" (that term's still up for debate) from an LS member shortly after the event started, and I just shrugged my shoulders and went off playing my other game. Sure, I could have taken advantage of it, but I took the moral high ground and decided not to.
Prices will drop as players stop buying. Once the people sees one digit less on their inventories they will start to think things twice. Not so many people will have 6m by then, and in case they have nobody in their right mind will pay 6 future millions for a Vanya Robe. Old players will know that's 60 old millions and simply will not pay that much for it, and new players will have no chance at all of buying that items.
People whose way of earning Gil was through high profit crafting items will just stop putting them at old prices as they see they are not selling a shit.
Not to forget the natural evolucion of prices dropping down as new, and considerably better gear appears.
not everyone has exploited this event. i didnt even know about till like 2 days ago and i havent even gotten that many crystals since they nerfed it. i did use my 15 free seals from gc to do some i made abou 4 mil as of logout time. you could have done the exploit long before atomos if u ran caravans all day everyday. with that 4 mil between 2 accounts i got about 13 mil which isnt alot considering stuff almost doubled in the last few days
