I do care about how jobs play, and 8.0 is when Square said they will fix the job design. I just want more jobs, their design is a separate issue.

hard disagree, quality over quanitiy but in a perfect world both. IMO its time to stop adding new jobs and expand older jobs. The homogeny has gotten out of control with healers since shadowbringers and their dps "rotation" is two buttons. We need to either abolish the role system and let all jobs have variants that can fill different roles. no reason red mage lore wise can't be a dps or healer and paladin is basically all three roles in one already so designing modes for it should be easy.
Another idea i had was cross class animation glamours. maxing black mage and monk allows the monk to replace the animations for their attacks with a flame, lightning or ice enhanced version and black mage could kick their foul at the enemy! the potency wouldn't be altered so min maxers don't ruin your choice.
Hybrid jobs are another idea i toyed with if we must add a bunch more jobs. Example summoner+machinist unlocks a Kaze from final fantasy unlimited inspired job. You load magical soil filled bullets into the magun to fire out a summon at enemies.

the lvling experience being miserable is something they have to look at anyway. (i doubt they do though xD)
it doesnt just affect levelling but it goes also into why synching down is terrible... and synching down is such a big part in this game.
