What's all this noise about a Materia nerf in 2.0?
Quite awesome..I like it. If only there was a way to figure out the dmg caps for level differences. From my understanding, insane melding is not really useful unless you want to use one set of gear for a very very very long time.
EDIT: This explains why def seems so useless. I'm assuming there is a min dmg floor based on level differences as well: as in X Boss does X amount minimum dmg to a player X levels below him. But then, how can you balance a game around single melds when the dmg calculations are apparently bound by level differences?
the 1:1 ratio means for example :
player 1 has 250 base stat, and 100 from stuff
player 2 has 250 base stat, and 50 from stuff
player 1 will do 116% of player 2 dmg. ( well its simplified, just to draw a big picture...)
compared to now, lets say 1:1.5
player 1 will do 123% of player 2 dmg
Well truly, i used a big 1:1.5 ratio and the dropdown is not so big
of course its all speculation, but we should still feel more powerfull with triple meld and such
its just a balance, not nerf
It's not nerfing the materia, just reducing the "necessity" for it. Also, did he say that materia will be better for crafters? If so, then my double-melded VIT set for LTW/ARM/CRP will be ridiculous!
Whatever you want to call it, it will make the insane super-melds less broken. Still useful though.
