As far as unsubscribing goes, a lot of people joined that boat already at this point so that train has a critical mass. There were many people that did it rather silently too, where they were hopeful for Dawntrail, then they saw it and just silently left all their linkshells, FC and unsubscribed, while others took a bit of time to try and rediscover their love for the game and couldn't. So it's the one moment where voting with wallet is gonna work because a critical mass is doing it and they've had shareholders commenting on it.
I mean yes, but other games do it. Balancing it can be harder, with WoW as a good example of a game that has struggled to balance so many contributing factors and builds, but the entire point of a system of choice and customization is that it helps reduce how samey classes are in other games. At a certain point, after years of this debate, surely it's time for them to give people choice over how complex their class is, regardless of the technical challenges involved.
I would, because it's more fun. We could use the same logic to ask why anyone would leave feedback for SE to make the cards RNG like you did, when you can get the same results without it. Either way, the answer is the RNG was more fun and I'd still pick an "RNG" build over it.Quote:
"You now have a choice between RNG cards vs consistent ones". Why would anyone choose the RNG path when you can get the same results without it?
I think the player base will complain no matter what. The player base is split and no matter what they do, there will always be complaints.Quote:
You really think the player base is going to accept that and not whine and complain and get us back to where we are now?
They've already gone full circle on some things at this point, such as how we started at grindy relics and circled round to tomestones and back to atma and roulettes, or how they avoided annoying/inconvenient ARR/Heavensward fight design due to complaints, then have tried to circle back to it in Dawntrail with the first fight in Stayborough. No matter where they go with it, players will complain.
Issue is that a lot of the cards were for things that aren't relevant now. TP doesn't exist. MP is no longer shared. The use of some cards was always questionable in the frist place.Quote:
been an issue since Shadowbringers. AST mains didn't want the seals system then and want their OG cards back. Something the devs have been extremely reluctant to do as you can see.
For me personally, I was fine with the seals system. I just want a Royal Road-type system for useless cards, because that's fun. Royal Road was fun, then in Shadowbringers I found Lord/Lady fun in a similar way. Both were functionally similar - a way to turn useless cards into something useful.
There is an opportunity to bring back old elements of jobs that people liked as an option if they provide customization, such as choosing between positionals or not, keep-up timers or not, etc.
