The game needs to make learning jobs easier

Stone, Sky and Sea deserves a real update.
Dancer must dance partner their chocobo, you need a quick restart button, ideally a potency calculator and a GCD+oGCD timeline would help a lot.
There's also the cases where you need to practice rotations on multiple targets.

I would not call that a solution. Its just abusing how dungeons reset cooldowns when you enter them. There's also a limit on how many dungeons you can do a day.

There is no reason why we still do not have a reset cooldowns button or NPC in Stone, Sky, Sea.

The game does a very poor job when it comes to explaining how jobs play to the players, there are also nuances that are not logical.

I have met a Black mage player in a Nier raid who was constantly casting the wrong spells, i managed to get into a talk to him and he didn't even know how to get 3 Astral Fire stacks without casting Fire 1, i managed to explain the basics to him after the raid, a rare occurrence that someone actually wanted to listen and learn.

I think most jobs suffer from skillbloat and if you aren't already versed in game mechanics it is difficult to understand what the tooltips even mean.

Definitely, and what's worse is that the vast vast majority of this bloat serves no purpose in gameplay engagement, they just fall into two general categories:

* A rotational GCD or oGCD you press because you do, with no individual function or form beyond "hey it deals some damage and The Balance told me to press this" and also having no "finisher"-element, design-wise (compare Flare Star for a variant that at least feels nice in design because it is clearly a finisher).
* An oGCD you press on cooldown because hey, it's free damage.

Neither of these two do anything but litter your hotbar + increase how quickly you get carpal tunnel syndrome. They require as much brainpower as rolling your face over the keyboard for the whole rotation does, or more specifically, they are the parts that make the rotations as braindead and simplistic conceptually as they are, even if they involve 20-25 buttons. And they are also as you say entirely opaque, there's no way for someone to figure out the intricacies of their own in most of these cases, since these buttons have no identity.

I thought people were complaining about this game because all the jobs are homogenized? But yeah, the tool tips are trash on explaining on what some abilities do.

I mean the “tooltips are terrible at explaining the jobs and when you don’t understand the job and therefore play it incorrectly it can feel kinda unique” isn’t really an argument the jobs aren’t homogenised

The argument is, if all the jobs play the same, then there should be no issues with tool tips as you should be able to relate one from one to to another from another job, therefore, if you have trouble with one tool tip, you should have trouble with the equivalent tooltip on another jobs, as they are the same. Since this is not the case, the jobs aren't homogenised. Which is true to an extent.

The original claim made no reference to how competent a person is at their job, just their ability to understand tooltips. It should go without saying that. just because you can read and understand the tooltips for a job, doesn't mean you are competent in that job.

Since competency has no relevance to the original claim, there is no reason to bring it up. The original claim was, if you can understand the tooltips for one job, you can understand them all, since every job plays the same, which is a common complaint that some people have. So, by that logic, if there is a job that has a tooltip that you do not understand, and it is unique to that job, by definition, that job plays differently to the other jobs, even if it is a small one.

hm i would have to disagree that all jobs play the same, i mean there is a core structure how jobs in this game work with combos and rotations, but a pictomancer and a blackmage is VERY different in playstyle even though they are both casters.
I must admit when i leveled pictomancer it really took me a while to understand all the skills and how they interact, but that is also a problem when you start at job on a high level and must figure out which skill has to go to what hotkey too.
