The attempts to rework jobs in the past has given us current Summoner and wouldn't you like that for every job we have already?
It's hard to predict the future but looking at the evidence of them re-working old dungeons and fights and sanitizing them to the point of blandness, the most positive outlook is to just be skeptical.
While my faith in Square Enix in regard to job design is greatly diminished, personally I am waiting for 7.2. This is where the new style of combat instances is supposed to come, and those could offer us a glimpse of what Square Enix has planned. Fight design and class design are inherently building atop each other, after all.
Way too early to call this. Thankfully, I do not need to make my 8.0 buy-or-not decision until after we will have seen 7.2 through 7.55.
History says to not expect much from it. Its basically the antithesis of everything Creative(ly bankrupt) Studio 3 to add player agency to anything
I dream that the mobile version was just a gamble to get a working backend developed by another company to get rid of spaghetti/legacy code and modern update tools instead of Excel sheets, as well as ideas for the jobs direction...
More baffling is that they have read the feedback from their customer base and decided to ignore all the praise for Viper 7.0 design, scrapping all the good on a whim. That kind of arrogance and dismissal of your customer base still doesn't sit right, and makes getting excited about future jobs much harder.
6 months since Yoshi P said he will work on job identity = 0 road map shown for the changes.
I dont trust him
I've got enough to complain about now without getting ahead of myself for things that won't happen for another year and a half or so.
