Because as soon as people complain about the job, they make it a lot worse out of pure spite. It's been shit to play since the great demolition in shb, and shit on damage to boot.
Mao nots planning to strike. Mao planning to LEAVE.
Sorry to derail, but the healer strike achieved so little because SE’s home market represented on the JP forums generally (not everyone of course) have no problems with current healer design and don’t get what the big deal is. See: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/499751
To the topic, a “DPS strike”would be pointless unless JP players are also on board. And having lived there before, I can say that strikes just aren’t part of their culture even IRL. In the US, we say “the squeaky wheel gets the grease” but in Japan they say “the nail that sticks up gets hammered down.”
Striking is not about making everyone suddenly stop playing something: it won't happen and everyone knows it, and DF has shown that it didn't affect it the slightest as well.
It's just a buzzword to raise up a problem and generate debates and visibility, and it worked, since the hashtag took off so much that streamers talked about it, and even journalists talked about it. And the meme is going to stay in XIV's history. Wish I could say the same about ranged jobs and MCH.
You guy don't seem to understand what a strike is supposed to be. For a strike to be effective, you need to actually bother other by striking. In the real world, that means blocking the means of production, thus hitting the revenue.
Translated in FFXIV, Healer strike (theorically) make sense because without healer, the whole game reach a point where it's not playable for the majority. Without Black Mage or machinist... well, nothing would change, there are 2 other ranged and 3 other magical dps. Thus BLM or MCH strike is fundamentally useless. nobody would even notice there is a strike running. It was already barely felt with healers, despite being a already less played role.
My BLM strike started shortly after I hit level 100 and decided that I hate Flare Star. For some reason, they made Despair instant-cast, when the change I was actually hoping to see was an instant-cast Flare Star that can be used with fewer stacks at a lower potency. But a lot of the 7.1 job changes are...weird, honestly.
Double Down actually made the existence of the cartridge system on GNB make sense, and then they took that away, so now I'm back to the ShB days of thinking that we don't need cartridges at all (just put Burst Strike on a cooldown and up its potency).
DNC has always had weird "this skill turns this other skill into a new skill" decisions, but the one they chose to consolidate in 7.1 is probably the weirdest. It'd be easy to consolidate standard/technical finish into skill chains that don't change the rotation but let you free up some hotbar space.
MCH has never been locked out of PF.
Why does it matter how much damage the jobs all do when even a group of 4 mch can clear at min ilvl?
What's more important, damage or gameplay, MCH plays just fine?
I guess all you care about it doing big number, you must be one of these slaves to the forbidden website. Are you just upset because you are bad at MCH? (hint: even if they buff it, you still get judged against other MCH players so it won't make your pointless fake internet scores better)
Still going Mch as main dps, why? Its single target rotation is smooth, personally think its one if best of all current jobs, especially with low ping like I have. Definitely dont hit numbers with other party members that know their job like the back of their hand but with "average" or pugs its pretty damn effective. Really my only vital issue with Mch is its horrible aoe rotation, hardly any of its skills there go off each other and its a massive mess, if theres at least 1 thing I want them to change its adding the ogcd reduction from using Autocrossbow during hypercharge...
