Scholar's Identity Transformation

I think it is because Seraph literally means "heavenly being" in Ancient Judaism. I know we had Seraph since Shadowbringers, but I do understand what you mean, since our fairy is more present than Seraph herself. If anything, they could go the route like how we could choose our fairies to just simply not letting the animation light up. The "turn off" setting. I would say an option to show more of a Fae glam, but Seraphism << the title does not work with it lol.

I am not opposed to turning into a Tonberry though. That sounds like fun.

Technically, A pixie is probably the perfect fairy.
We got Statice, an OG arcanic fairy - from the same people that lived in Nim - which is almost literally a pixie.
As much as I love Eos/Selene, we got them as magical constructs memories stored in a soul crystal and their appearance is influenced by our(WoL) interpretation.

The only reason the fairy(and WoL) would look like an angel would be if WoL disregarded all the information they gathered (unlikely) AND went like "I guess WHM is what healer is" (nigh impossible)

After SB, we really have just been going further beyond with the jobs/class/role basics.

Everything beyond is our (re)discoveries/evolutions/inventions/mastery.

First to deal with the WHM thing.
White mages have always been Nature, and Their Elements. The Elementals communing with Padjali. And The core of Those Three Elements(Two Light Aspect Aether, and a Balancing Dark). Light Magic/Stasis(With Nods/Notes of Nature with the Lily, and Holy.)

For all intents, Light Aspected Druids.

Schs Have always Been Knowledge, Tactics, Higher Learning. (You Can Lean Pixie Mischief, Fairy Wisdom, or Angelic/Seraphic Knowledge.)
(What Taints all this, really is just that it has to share its origin with SMN, and the fact that ARR had to be made in short time.)

The Only Real Issue with the evolution into seraph, and Seraphism is that people think one leads to the other with WHM and SCH.

it doesn't, WHM wings really are just Expression of the Elemental Power.(Which Light Magic is Stasis, which can help Null the incoming effects.)

And as others said in threads covering this topic, or adjacent to this topic.

SGE already takes the High Tech End.

We got Our Battle Partner Fairy, and we Guard/Lead the Marauder in Tactics/Knowledge. (You could almost attribute that to Archangels of Knowledge)

But we can attribute to many things.

We Know What power they source it from.
(Whms from Elements/Stasis/Communion with Elementals)

The only Real Issue with Seraphism within this topic, is that it leads too much into people's slightly off placed expectations.

And they could of Added More Seraph Blue Glow to the whole body, or the Wings with light effect at minimum.

I don't play sch, so I don't have any skin in this game, but I just wanted to support this criticism, when I saw the transformation I instantly went, "huh?" The angelic motif is totally white mage's wheelhouse and doesn't make sense at all in the corner of sch. Sch colors have always been green and yellow in this game - I know these are semantics but it seems relevant b/c the transformation doesn't match any of the spell colors. When I saw the angelic transformation after I went, huh, I immediately said to myself, why not a fairy?

100% it doesn't fit the job and it should be changed to a fairy transformation.

SIDENOTE: Devs please stop making all healers into whm! You all have done that to Ast as well! I love white flowy robes but my goodness, you have 4 very distinct looking healers - please stop making them all look like whm! Whm is beautiful on its own! Lean into the motifs of the class and not whm for everything.

I don't get it, the WHM dash forward animation they got makes it look like THEY'VE got the fairy wings and Sch are stuck with a white sheet and some chicken wings. They had 3 fairies [eos, selene, seraph] to choose from [4 if you include statice, 5 if you include the fae from ShB] to keep a consistent aesthetic and they just....ignored all of it! On top of that, the general presentation of the seraph-angel look is so terrestrial! Literally look like you're wearing a fancy dress costume as opposed to being clad in holy soothing light. It's not transformative, it's a costume change!

Well, I don't think they look like chicken wings. I do think the transformation on its own is quite pretty. However, it isn't sch in the slightest. I do agree it does look like a very pretty costume. I immediately thought of the kids in Coraline when I saw it. At first I thought, maybe they're going with a sineater route? Still, that again would be a whm thing with white magic / stasis - yes I know whm is tied to elements, but it is also tied greatly to white magic.

I might have seemed harsh referring to them as chicken wings but they're actually my favourite part of the whole thing - even though if I were designing a Seraph form I wouldn't make any of the same choices the devs did XD I see what you mean with the Coraline angels too [again, an aesthetic I'm a bit snooty about so I am coming at this with prejudice lmao] I would have preferred to see Seraphise look like the Jake-suit from adventure time https://64.media.tumblr.com/fd087350...0n48o1_500.gif

I do find it very odd that the class is being given a “churchy” vibe over time. Just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I think Scholar has been struggling with an identity problem for a long time, partly due to the shared origins with Summoner. Its too late obviously and I already stopped maining Scholar after Shadowbringers where it didnt feel fun anymore. I hope Scholar eventually finds its way. Christianity/Catholicism themes just aint it, and neither is throwing on a costumy winged nun outfit during battle.

I kinda wonder why they did the robes too? They could have just done fairy wings and a crown if they wanted us to transform without fully overriding how we want to dress and theme our characters. They could have made it Feo Ul themed!
