Wife unable to do alliance raid roulette once she hit 60.

They're a married couple; one of them wants to do the roulette and the other wants to come, too. It's not about loot or rewards, it's about people wanting to play together and help each other out in an MMO. It's silly that they can't do a roulette together just because one of them made it to level 60 while still in ARR.

This has been reported as a bug before. It is apparently working as intended.

Wow, that's absolutely wild. I can't think of any good reason to design it that way, as I can't think of any benefits a player gets from artificially limiting which raids they can queue for that would be worth the cost of literally halting your MSQ progression. Maybe I'm wrong? But it seems like the kind of overkill response that's more likely to negatively impact reasonable players than it is to catch anyone genuinely attempting exploits.

Regardless, thanks for pointing out that they've litigated this in the past, even if I'm baffled by their decision.

Of course it does because ilevel cheesing wasn't the problem. People were on almost instantly after they put the change in saying it wasn't working and SE needed to restrict this or that other new scrapegoat. CT is always going to have a massive imbalance because every player that goes through the story has to do it. What they need is to offer more carrots for players to unlock and do other raids.

High level raids are popping now, so the roulette is working like it's meant to. The roulette should take into account MSQ progress though since the MSQ limits what kind of tomestone gear you have access to.

its working as intended. i mean the past few days, i have a gotten a good mix of Alliance roulette outside of Crystal Tower its nice. I can also queue up for a specific Alliance raid if I need it for wonderous tails without having to wait forever as well before this was implemented last year. Its working as intended. Blame the players that gamed the system.

As for the OP, she will need the min ilvl requirement to enter the first alliance raid for each expansion since it sounds like you can craft the gear.

Still doesn't work because still get Crystal Tower raids 100% of the time. Just run in hunt train for tomestones if need them or deep dungeon.

Hey OP!

I'm serious about this: If you guys can't buy/make a High Level 60 crafted set, I'll gift you guys one (actually two, one for SMN and one for SCH) so you can just play.

It's not a bug, they deliberately changed the game to do this check. It will now expect you to be geared appropriately whether you have unlocked the higher raids or not.

They aren't expecting you to have Heavensward gear, they are expecting that if you are level 60 and still in ARR you don't need to be running this roulette any more, and can do so on another lower job if you really want to run it daily.

Nothing is halting anyone's MSQ progression. They can still queue for the individual raids, they just can't queue for the roulette – the primary intent being to block higher level people from stripping down to low-level gear to guarantee lower raids.

Even if everyone was eligible for every raid, the roulette is still going to naturally skew towards CT because it is lower level and mandatory. The changes hopefully make sure that when people queue for optional higher raids, enough people in the roulette are eligible to help them.
