Though, I have to admit I thought he was pretty cool back in the day. Then my brother introduced me to Metal Gear Solid, which coincidentally came out the same year as FFVII. You could pull a name out of a hat from its entourage of villains to find one cooler, better written, and better executed than Sephiroth. That game holds up today, and was eons ahead of its time.

Please....for the love of all that's holy..... let FF7 die already. It was (at best IMO) a mediocre game that would have never been more than just another game if it hadn't worn the Final Fantasy label. FF9 needs some serious loving, as it was the only one of the series (ff7-ff12) that is actually "fantasy" (again IMO).

I prefer when they just sprinkle in references to old games through locations, enemies, music, and items. Post-EW content felt like they relied too much on FF4 fanservice that the story became quite predictable and forced.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the entire Gold Saucer plus Chocobo racing/breeding already a nod to FF7?

As long as we get Aerith or Tifa outfits for completing it, i'd welcome it

This. As much as the female glamours tend to get the better half overall, when it comes to FF inspired glams, they defenitely get the short hand. No Tifa, Aerith, Rinoa, Dagger (I want that orange jumpsuit, DT seems the time to give it to us) outfits, when all their counterparts are ingame. As simple as it is, I would also have liked a Lunafreya outfit (but yeah, FFXV being a sausage fest, I get it). Lightning is a special case since she is the main character. XII got all the cast but that's also a special case. The only one that got a fair treatment is FFX (well XIII too, but I'm not sure it would have if the main character was a guy, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt).

It would be pretty cool to get the buster sword.
