The new alliance raids have been undertuned for awhile now. If you have even a slightly decent dps raid, you will usually kill the last boss before the final mechanic. It sucks, but it's what happens when they make item scaling too high and make raids too easy.
Except Aglaia wasn't stupidly easy back when the max ilevel was 600. It was never exactly hard, but it wasn't "shut your brain off after the second run" like dungeons are.
The best thing they could do is synch everyone to whatever max ilevel was when the raid came out once the new gear tier drops. They already do this with 90 dungeons.
I love aglaia, have done it literally hundreds of times, and get so many groups that disappear during the knockback mechanic instead of cheesing it with Arm's Length. Or they'll all be dead somehow. Then we'll enter the add phase with the boss at like 5%. I have never seen a skip. I've heard of it. I want to experience it someday. Lowest I've seen before adds was 3% and that was with literally the whole group running off while just me and a RPR ArmsLength'd the knockback to continue DPSing. To this day I've never seen an add skip.
Basically new people should come to Crystal to do Aglaia. They'll never have to worry about skipping mechanics due to high dps here.
This would just make it absolutely frustrating and not really remedy the situation. It would still be easy, you just wouldn't be able to prematurely kill the boss.
It'd end up exactly like the final trial of the ARR MSQ where people start emoting and standing around during the vortex barrier and usually right after radiant blaze(because the boss is already 20% by that point anyways). Can you imagine being a new comer to the Endsinger trial, having the boss just stuck on 1 hp for a third of the fight while people meme on it?
Apparently the alternative is just not seeing that part of the fight at all, so neither is desirable and a different solution is required.
If only there was some way to limit players' power in a certain fight? Or a way to get the boss to move on into the important mechanics once they hit a certain HP threshold?
Even if you limit player power there are things now that we still skip mechanics for with limited power. They need to make the mechanic something that can't be skipped, either by invulnerability or like you and another poster said, the mechanic happening at a certain HP threshold. For Nald'Thal it would probably end up skipping mechanics before the unskippable one, though, so something would still be missed. Which is why I lean more toward invulnerability. If they want to avoid the memeing like Neko mentioned, just have something still happening that people have to avoid, like AoEs.
