FFXI new expansion concerns

We get an entire new world. I don't see the big deal. I'm happy XI still gets content, even though I don't plan on playing it any time soon (I played it for years, that ship has sailed...was a great time, but I've moved on).

^this 100% abyssea is the reason me and my wife quit 11 after 8+yrs along with everyone we knew lol.this is just a marketing scam to get ppl to come back. doesn't really matter to them which game you pick they get the same sub fee from you either way.
I'm not gonna lie to you the new land (outside screenshots) got me interested and i might go back for a month to explore it. The city looked horrible though it's like they are trying to make another WG but its really ugly and looked bare. they concept art of the river city was nice though. Just hope that video was a rough look at the new city. Mainly would go back because i miss my Blu ; ;. only Chance this expansion has is if they add New Endgame events like sea/dynamis/sky in the new land.

I'm not worried really. I mean hell, I know some people who loved FFXI but have no interest in going back even with the expansion.

XIV gets new game engine and server structure, XI gets rehashed zones... who wins?

This. I saw Whitegate, Jugner, and Purgonorgo Isle. Those are "new lands"?

That Foresty area looks way too much like our current Black Shroud...

They have a team working on each game. Juat because ffxi is finally.getting some new content doesnt mean se is paying any more or less attention to ffxiv. Id rather see 2.0 fix the foundation of the game such as UI and server stability and graphic improvements then see new expanded content for now.

People seem to forget that FFXI is its own game with its own fans. As long as FFXI is not F2P, then the players deserve more content. As others have stated, FFXI has its own dev team working on that content. There is no need to assume that any resources are being stripped from FFXIV in order to produce a new expansion for FFXI.

FFXI has a certain nostaligic feeling to it, but I do think that ast this point 14 has it little following of it´s own. No need to be concerned
