Not to mention being tone deaf as to whether or not what he writes is even what people will want to see. MMO story writing is a TEAM effort, revised and rewritten over and over again, analysed, refined, changed, parts scrapped entirely. It takes MONTHS, sometimes years to get right..even then there are always last minute changes, fine tuning. Yoshi stated in an interview that he had played through all it at least four or five times, looking for changes, going back to the writing teams, conferring with the lead writers, the devs, the artists, the voice actors...right up to the date of release.

To me, exploratory zones are not a must have for each expansion. They did gave us new things such as IS and V/C dungeon. Although they have many flaws but SE are improving them. It takes time to polish new ideas. This game is not perfect but to me this game doesn't have to be the best among the market.

I want a diverse market where everyone can find what they're looking for. I want XIV to be XIV. I don't think everything in XIV is perfect, but as of right now, generally speaking, I like the direction it is going and how social/causal it is continue to be. ( I hope);)

That's the thing though, with the games that are set to release this year and the utter state of FFXIV...there really is a high chance that after 6.4 I just don't come back if Hiroi doesn't deliver an ending to Pandemonium that is at the very least "passable" without the sort of thematic mess the base Endwalker msq subjected us to.

There's no content coming out until 7.0 that I can see myself doing anyway after these raids, certainly not the last Myths instalment with the open sesame femroe scholar or anything else the junior writers who created 6.1 have touched. How on earth did we go from the sort of patches we had in Heavensward and Stormblood to this? From both a content design and writing perspective, it feels like a change for the worse in every possible way.

Anyway, given FFXIV doesn't feel like FFXIV anymore, I may as well try out FFXVI once it arrives. I just want a game that takes itself seriously and feels fun, and hopefully FFXVI will accomplish that with Heavensward's writer and soon as I unlock Shiva and Bahamut's eikon movesets. All the passion that used to be behind FFXIV clearly has all gone over to that game. Meanwhile these patches all feel like they're done as a last minute task without much care put into them.

If this is all the game can offer for the next 10 years then I'm not sticking around for this ride. All of it feels like a massive betrayal. With the added bonus of seeing the longstanding content creators who mocked me in the past finally waking up to the fact that things are not ok. Congratulations to them especially, if they loved this game so much they should have been the first to call out Endwalker's problems so they could actually be fixed.

OP is the type of person that if they leave something once, they'll never go back to it, no matter what.

If all you ate was pizza everyday you'd get tired of it and over time that pizza would change and then all you would remember is how that pizza used to taste, but you've forgotten how to enjoy it anymore.

Then you just become a big baby and annoy everyone else who still likes pizza because it's not how you remember how you liked it. Variety is truly the spice of life. Repeated exposure to a stimulus reduces its ability to excite or even repel. You're too used to playing the game and your own nostalgia is ruining what patience there is left.

Meanwhile, everyone else is going about their day.

How many threads does one person need to post… changes they want are long term changes. It’s long term and that’s if they even remotely listen to aveyonds feedback (which some I can get behind but most can be buried away) we will have to endure post after post after thread of the same complaints.

I’m sorry but if anyone hates or dislikes a game so much just leave for a while and observe from the outside. If you have a house… that alone shouldn’t keep you here it’s not a big end game thing to have. I have a large plot myself shared with a mate. We agreed if we hated the game so much we would ditch and let it auto demo. However we are happy to dabble on and off here and there or keep the sub going because even with my minimum wage an entry sub cost for this game is absolutely tiny of an amount so I just let it continue on (I fully understand not everyone can do this but I just compare the cost to other things like a generic McDonald’s meal costs just the same)

I’m not going to deny the game is in a questionable state but it’s not doom and gloom or dying, I want this to be my main game as well and it has been but I still want to be able to play other things without feeling like I have to work a job to get back to relevancy.
