So there's a hole, but they covered it, so there isn't a hole.

Aren't there like four Dragoon- specific sets you can choose from that don't have a belly hole?
I mean I get "some" are really annoyed by it, but does every single thing have to make sense? Like Paladins seemingly dont wear helmets where warriors mostly do, Bard gear doesn't exactly serve purpose other than being fancy and ready for embellishments - it's fine if it made little sense.
In fact, I could argue that females might not even use the extra cover as the males do because it probably weighs extra, so for mobility it is left out.
Yeah, but the other are not iconic classic FF character armor. That alone would be a reason to give the choice. I never talked about making sense to begin with. Other people did. Plus since what I'm proposing is having both versions available, not replacing it. I don't see why one would be against that idea (especially since the chance of that actually happening is pretty low). For someone that likes the version with the belly hole, having the other one available wouldn't change anything.
I'm not a huge fan of the gender variations this game sometimes favors in general. In a perfect world, either gender would have access to both variants in every case, but alas...
Fix? We need more armors like that, everything is so unisex now it's awful, only healers and dancers get to have nice AF.
I think the gear is at it's best when they do give the same version to both male and female characters... And they REALLY dedicate to making it the as much the same between them as they can, one of the bestest examples of it being easily the Light Steel set, which on a female character is basically a platemail bikini... And on male characters, it's covers just as much.
