We are not that special, get over yourself.

The answer is simple.

When time machines are finished - next time you can go back in time and work to earn the gil to afford a house.

Seriously inflation is so bad in FF 14 right now that you can afford a large with almost zero effort in about a month. I put in work for my housing back then and really getting housing was NOT a challenge back then.
Now simply getting a job/story skip puts 1 million in your pocket.
