Best gear: Darklight?

I agree on WHM, but it's not really worth. Doesn't make the difference (but well, you can be a main WHM and you want them or you have fun doing CC/AV, i'm not complaining).

About piety on Brd and Drg, that's secondary stat, so it should boost AA, while Str/Dex boosts WS damage.

That's what I've been told.

Piety is the primary stat for BRD, Dex is Secondary.

Boosting AA damage on DRG helps more than you may think, it contributes to a good portion of your damage and like I said, DRG gets access to a lot more STR gear than it does PIE gear so the PIE on caligae can be useful as most DRGs aren't anywhere near capping it but can cap STR much more easily.

Won't be so sure about Darklight Caligae on bard however, since I'd have to check if it's better then the 5 GC pieces combo for the new bow (+30 Attack bonus is probably something I'd like to aim for).

Isn't TP gain based on AA damage or am I just crazy and it's actually based on delay?

If it's like ff11, then it's based on damage and delay. So DPS stat on weapon is what you should look at probably.
Don't know if Attack Power is influent. If it is, then it's not too much.

On Monk it seems I gain more TP using kick skill, even if single attack damage is lowered (and dps is almost the same).
Also I don't seem to get more TP using Power Surge and Fists of Fire.

It's not worth giving up crafted gear/af pieces/darklight feet to be honest. There's barely any PIE on company gear which you can get a lot of through non-company gear. If you are under the PIE cap then 30 Attack power = 20 PIE, and even just full AF gives +38 PIE. Hell, just Darklight Boots on their own match the +30 attack power on the bow.

That said, the Lieutenant bows are really strong regardless and are perfectly fine if you don't have a primal weapon.

some GC gear is far better then AF on Bard. AF body is useful for skill bonus, but it's not hard to arrange a couple of macros for that. About the DEX feet, you probably gain only +10 Dex and Acc from them, but considering the set you trigger a lot of bonus stats from other GC pieces. The total is probably worth.

And yeah, Lieutenant bows are really strong, probably even better then primal weapons. So Storm Sergeant's Jackboots are probably worth (also can't meld dex or piety on feet, so it's not really that bad).

I was looking through Storm gear cause I know for a fact there is barely anything useful for BRD from the Flames, and I didn't see anything that beats out crafted gear and AF because there is barely any PIE on GC pieces. With crafted gear, you can stack PIE on body, DEX on hands, DEX or PIE on legs (if you meld DEX there you can get STR as well, which adds to physical damage slightly even if it's not one of your primary stats). The fact you can double up just makes them outright better than anything you can get from Companies.

AF feet have +10 Piety on them anyway, which is more damage the +10 DEX and they also have +2 Accuracy which probably helps out about the same as the DEX would with your hit rate. I've only ever had accuracy issues on BRD versus Garuda anyway.

I don't understand what you're trying to sell me on. You compare a single piece of equipment, the DL corselet, to a panoply from GC in order to "prove" DL is overestimated. Then you say:

What a relief. Nobody is running around in just a corselet. So, what is the point of your thread?

Yes they are overrated but they are still mostly BiS. Most of'em, especially the corselet set really shines in garuda fight, because it puts you at enouh acc while maintaining stat cap.
