Maybe you should start a separate petition for a texture downgrade pack??

Eventually I would love to see a HQ texture pack for the game but chances are we might need to turn to the community for that eventually.

If the game gets popular enough I'm sure the .dat moders will be in full force as they were in XI...hell I did a few .dats back in my day.

Know what i'd love to see for XIV? An ENB mod for it.

I'm aware graphics don't make the game fun. Neither do textures.

If all it takes for you to get immersed into a game is an updated floor texture, then I envy you. Usually it takes more than an image file for me.

I was thinking that since it is possible we may be getting dx11 in the future, maybe the textures could happen as well.

This game has the most fragmented file system I have seen in a PC game, besides FF11, I doubt the existing files will work in the new engine.

Youre assuming the textures will be a lower resolution than they are now. If they are using the same texture files that we have now, it wouldnt make sense for them to just delete them all, and then have us download lower quality textures.

More likely the game will be using less intensive lighting effects, rather than lowering texture resolutions. There isnt a doubt in my mind that the PS3 version will be using lower resolution textures (on at least things that arent characters), but there is absolutely no reason to scrap the countless textures we are already using, and then have us redownload lower quality ones all over again (costing them bandwith/money), just because the PS3 doesnt have enough memory, or a good enough GPU to use those textures.
