Being a tank or a healer is a thankless job is what it boils down to. There is an immense sense of responsibility from playing either role. So yeah, grin and bear it is the best approach. "You pull it, you tank it" is a relic of the past as far as I'm concerned and looking back, I don't think it was even that great of a mindset to have to begin with. As a tank, one's job is to do exactly that, even if you didn't pull it. If you don't, the healer pays the price immediately, I learned a hard lesson many years ago in WoW, and it still applies today. NEVER upset your healer. :p
Well RDM with a WAR tank, is an over abundance of heals.
Sounds like he was a tank alting. He knew the tank buster was pretty weak, so decided to take it as a squishy because he was bored himself.
In those situations, where you do have someone who is tough as nails, do what's fun for you. Don't pay too much attention to him, just aoe pick up anything he drags to you. That's likely the signal he'll use if he bites off more than he can chew.
Since we are on the topic, I noticed that each time I play smn in a dungeon, the tank pulls wall to wall of course but if I attack even for a little bit as we run, the mobs turn on me. I assume its because the tank uses his aoe only once before reaching the wall however I didn’t run in this problem as a dnc so why is smn different?
For now I just walk behind and wait until the mobs are all pulled together in one spot and then start doing damage but it annoys me being a fast paced class and having to stroll behind the adds.
Gonna be frank, and I know this is a bit of a controversial opinion: If a DPS is so eager to pull ahead of everyone, they can die. I'll warn them once and then just let them die if they keep pulling. If it's The tank that's wall-to-walling then I don't mind.
Why do I do this and why does it matter when it's the DPS and not the Tank: Their kits are not designed to hold aggro and sustaining a fight with a large group of enemies. It's not their role to dictate the pace of pulls in a dungeon. At best, they force everyone else to go at their pace, and at worse it can cause frustration, stress, wipes and unnecessary deaths. Most people that do this are entitled selfish players, that expect Healers to keep them alive and for the Tank to grab everything from them, and you know what? I'm not gonna indulge that kind of attitude.
Wanna lead the pace? Play a Tank.

expecting people to do the job they signed up for isn't selfish or entitled. and it never will be.
if you're tanking and people are running ahead, you're not moving fast enough. wind your neck in, check your ego, and just pull more lol
refusing to pick up mobs and letting people die is just straight up griefing too, especially with how simple tanking and healing is nowadays.
tanks and healers need to realise that they're not as important as they think they are.
as someone who's done the rolls in basic content.
I agree with thr fact that the tank and healer set the pace. while I certainly have rusted a bit since I've been doing Relics and side content.
generally, just match the pace.
I believe either earlier today. or yesterday.
I had a couple of runs where me sprinting didn't end well.
but then again, no one said anything.
I got hit by two aoe, where the mobs spawn, unfortunately not fast enough, die.

and a different one where the tank just decided to stop 8/10 w2w, and didn't get the mobs that spawn from the last aoe, before the bridge to the first boss.
Dead as well.<I obviously slowed down, cause it felt like they certainly had the You Pull, you tank mentality. though always was keeping damage up whilst they pulled. though they clearly could seeing how they did their roll>
My usual way of play when I DPS, is stick to the tank, if blm A.Mapulation if needed
and dps on the run if I got the procs, and casts
Never died, though for some reason on that day, died twice in the same dungeon, in two different parties.
Just shows how it'll always be different.
When I tank, i expect the Healer, and dps to help keep things rolling.
When healing, I try to anticipate what goes on.
And when dps, I tail, or if the tank clearly wants to[cause sometimes it's just that clear they want to mess around] race them down the hallway. and made sure their job rounding up the Pests Is easy.
Accidents happen. YpYtank it mentality honestly is a Cancer.<simply cause it's only purpose is to create conflict. and doesn't create unity, just shaming players who either don't know. or the one I ran into Paglthan long ago, when I got to close to the next pack<by accident> and they just stood there. Immediately going off tangent.

though for many. it's either obvious, or you're wrong for trying. or they'll reach, and try to instigate.
I had the same thing once in a low level dungeon. a lalafel who got snippy, and thought I was rushing ahead in the old totorak as a healer.<asking for a slow down, as they themselves rushed ahead later on, and started trolling as they got called out.> ended up having me and the other dps duo the final boss. cause they got themselves, and the tank killed.
I can't say your RDM Dps was on that level.
But I'd just sum it up as, they're just having a weird day.<though I have seen many people rush people with aoes of late, or falsely claim no one stacked, when they back peddled away, causing the healer to die<it was the tank itself that time who moved>.
Ignore if it's minor nonsense if someone is feeling cute.
if they're are getting too spicy.
Kick, they're being a detriment.
if you'd rather not deal with it, do as others said, leave and spend the time productively on other things in game.
what matters is your enjoyment in the face of others mishaps.
