7.0 News from Reddit.

There isn't enough info for me to be concerned at all. Although I too wish Y'shtola would be sidelined in 7.0 instead of actively accompanying us if Krile is becoming a party member for the reasons you said... Enough with the abundance of Sheldon Coopers following us everywhere please, one is enough.

It'd be really nice if the next expansion gave us more fresh new expansion-long allies replacing seats from characters that are done with their MSQ development like Thancred, Urianger and Alphinaud. I'm not holding my breath that bloody UwU fanboy G'raha won't be part of the main party and Y'shtola will probably stick around if they don't have her decide she got enough to keep to her research by the end of 6.55.
Ideally, and I'd understand G'raha staying in this case, the characters that didn't join until Endwalker should stay, and new ones should be introduced, so to really cement this as a new saga in the making. But it's the merchandise appeal that will dictate the writing decisions. Those ludicrously overpriced Square-Enix figurines and statues need to appeal to whales after all.

If they add new ones I really hope they pick from the races not represented yet: Roegadyn, Viera and/or Hrothgar. And no, I don't think they should pick a job NPC.

I might also add that no one I know can see anything in this character. So far she is bland and annoying. The way she talks bores me, and if she turns into another Graha'tia (starts wanting to be cute and cuddly) I don't think I'll be able to bear seeing whatever CS she is.

As for the matter of weight and consequences in the story, this is more than missing. I think the last time I worried about something was in HW/post HW, where we actually had losses that weren't fixed right after 5 quests. Nowadays, when a character is cut in half and falls to the ground, I'm sure my character will make a sad face, and someone will come along with a miracle cure.

lately I've seen comments that, if they are true, just show me that SE has given priority to superfluous things, while other more important ones have been left aside. For a story-based game, character design can be important to some extent, but the priority here really should be the story.

Now that we're done with the ARR arc, that the Sions have been "disbanded", it's a chance to create new airs, not get new character outfits.

What I mean is, they're going to have to work a new arc, so that we care about the new villain, for better or for worse. If they can't work this out, we'll start to feel like everything is shallow.

although I agree with you in parts (I would hate to have only Yshtola and Krile, as with the others at least they have to share appearance time, and I can't stand them both), I don't think it's going to happen.
They've had the opportunity to make that happen now, as at the end of 6.0 we say goodbye to everyone and everyone will do what they want with life, but as soon as 6.1 starts you realize that nothing has changed. The truth is, just as they're afraid of making the twins grow up, they're afraid of discarding characters. This has caused most of the problems I see in the story, that and the part of making it VERY dramatic.

This was probably one of the most jarring things, we say our goodbyes to the Scions at the end of Endwalker but almost immediately afterwards meet back up again which just cheapens that entire part of the ending.

And I bet it would be even more jarring if I played through that part of the MSQ right now because there's no 4 month break between 6.0 and 6.1

It was implied even before they all started doing that that the crystal could restore them. Yshtola said it herself.

While I wasn't a fan of that whole self sacrifice with 0 consequences either because no amount of "justification" makes this not cheap, we're talking about two completely different things.

I'm talking about the Scions disbanding at the end of 6.0 and everyone going their separate ways, but immediately after we meet back up with them.

So now we are down to complaining about the colour yellow on a character's robe. lmao Man, this is legit funny. :'D

thing is, the "disbanding" was just so the leaders of Eorzea would stop calling on them to solve all their problems. it was never going to be a "goodbye, never see you again" kind of thing. they were still going to be around, but the only way to get off the speed dial was to dissolve the scions and appear to go about their separate ways. its nice to be the only fire brigade in Eorzea.. but the leaders need to hire their own fire brigade, not always run to us.

Everyone seems to ignore that part where they say "were disbanding!" and in literally the next sentence "at least, officially".

Like, it was never a "were never doing anything as a group ever again" implication.
