Can we start making dyeable gear the standard?

Motivate them with something else. The only reason we think being able to dye is an acceptable reward is because they've used it as a reward in this game. It's pretty standard in most other games. It's time for SE to stop treating being free to choose the color of our armor as a reward.

I think that would be a fair compromise if VFX is the plan for future tiers.

I actually like that the BiS is a mixture of the tomestone and savage sets, though I admit it's for a selfish reason.

Namely, given the oft-used priority system most statics have of "tanks don't get to roll on anything until the DPS have all their gear from a fight, and healers don't get to roll on anything until the tanks have all their gear from the fight", I am in favor of any BiS system where I maybe only have to wait for three or four people to get their gloves or boots or whatever before I, as a healer, can roll on them -- as opposed to waiting for six other people. ;P

I don't really otherwise disagree that it's kind of unfortunate that only the savage stuff can be dyed. I know a lot of people who really wanted the Edenchoir fending armor, or the Edenmorn fending or maiming armors, and were greatly sad that the Edencall and Edenmete versions were the same models but not dyable.

Especially because the raid armor -- normal or savage -- is only useful/relevant as glamour when the tier is no longer current.

(I'm not sure I need all my savage gear to be glowy, though.)

I'm in favor of this. Savage already gives out a mount at the end, as well as unique weapons, so letting the normal mode gear dye would be great.

If they really wanted to, they could make it the same model and have them dye differently, to keep glamour in as an incentive for savage too. As long as both sets dye, that still counts, right?

If they're going to start making gear have some additional razzle dazzle to them, then the normal version could be the same without the added effects.
Would make the gear from both difficulties desirable

Woah! People have been asking to make the NPC mogstation outfits dyable for 5 years and they STILL haven't done it!

I don't know why it isn't the standard either. And what's worse is when they ARE dyable, half the time their dyed colors don't match anything else. I really despise the inconsistent color palettes they use.

What? You don't love it when you dye your plate armor and it suddenly looks like plastic?
