Please stop using macros to mark the enemy you are attacking

HAH! I know the feeling. Most priority targets are divers that need to be focused once they commit to an attack, the makers help you know immediately when they're attacking. The whole point of priority targets is that you change focus from the monk you're attacking to the red mage that is now in range.
It goes without saying that if priorities are out of range that you focus DPS > HEALER > TANK.

On the flip side, anything that "goes without saying" is player experience dependent. So maybe more so be mindful of what your team should know at your current rank.

What are you talking about? I mean 2 idiots, with your macros to mark Attack1 to whatever they are attacking, one attacking the RDM, the other the Healer and swapping the Mark because THEIR opinion of who we should attack is the important, the other 3 did not know what to focus.

This is bad when happens. Imho only one person should lead the team. Usually i do because no ones do call outs, but if i see someone else mark someone i just follow those marks to avoid confusion during the match and let them lead.

This. Static priority marks are pointless in CC.
The team should be switching targets dynamically based on enemy positioning and ability usage.
There's virtually zero value in identifying the order in which you'd ideally kill the enemy team as if it's a PvE encounter.
Marks like that are clutter at best and confusing at worst.

God, this is annoying when i see someone fixated with marking the other team as 1, and 2, etc during the whole match. Inevitably we lose and it's to be expected for the reasons that you listed and more, such as whether the enemy happens to have low HP/MP, whether they have shown themselves to be the highest threat, etc.

Marks can be used, but they shouldn't be used in a static way.
