In all seriousness though my only worry is that it becomes another Stronghold System from World of Warcraft, but it's not really a huge worry. I don't think the community is as antisocial as WoW was back then, and also I don't think that the two are intended to be that similar in design. (I.E. I don't think you can get raid gear from the Island Sanctuary.)

The last four years have taught me both the people that have houses and the people that don't have houses will complain.

Pre-Shadowbringers there were plans for public garden plots to get around the "not everyone has a house" issue for those apartment-bound. I'd wager this is an upgraded and revised version of that.

Personally, I'm going to just sit on it and see what it is when it's finally announced. This is the sort of system that could easily spiral out of control with the expectations placed on it, so I'd rather be ready to accept it on its own terms rather than build the perfect system in my head.

Instanced Housing. Even though I believe it's not.

You would have to be absolutely tone deaf and out of tune with audience to completely miss that key theme that hasn't been addressed adequately in any shape or form.

Could be something like Elpis in small.

In the last LL Yoshi commented that he'd been reading some of the speculation threads in the forums and said players were thinking the system would be a lot bigger than it actually will be. If you're expecting animal crossing/stardew valley type content, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Instance housing like most people are thinking of is also a non-starter because of the server space required for it; they've told us this before as well.

Yoshi-P said to not get our hopes up, so I'm trying to keep my expectations tempered. I'm thinking minion slots, some gathering nodes, maybe gardening, possible limited housing stuff.

But they also said it would be added to as the game goes on, so it can get bigger and better.

Their extreme silence on this topic makes me think it's going to be something incredibly lame. That means people will tinker with it a bit and then precede to ignore it. It'll likely have some sort of Doman Enclave time gated upgrade system that people will probably do..then ignore it.

As much as we all want it to be instanced housing...no one should have their hopes hung on that.
