Company Features / Linkshell Features

I like the company bank system. Items and gil.

I also like the player tax.

Guild level not so much. That's kind of a fringe appeal in my opinion. Kind of complicated and painful for most players. I don't want running a company to be a waste of time.

Company owned stores: AWESOME!!!!!

Also the calendar feature would be a great feature.

did anyone else catch on to the choice of words used by SE when dealing with leves and the party system?

i.e. solo band party troop legion.. COMPANY!!??

Im thinking it has something to do with large scale events such as a campaign against an enemy.. something along the lines of a war.. something that will make Eorzea not as "peaceful" as it has been.. air ships can easily be war ships ;p

yeah me thinks soon we will have a war break out while at same time checking out the wars from our past to help us win the war of the present. all them empty town like places with npc's might turn to battle grounds or something. hopefully our company ships be flying to them lol.

it would be awesome if they added a PvE/PvP system where you fight in a city to take control :3

Not sure this have been mentioned but i like to see some kind of ingame calendar where LS / Co Members can login to game & check what the leader has planned for the week/weekend & sign up.

Much like WoW's ingame calendar...hell just steal the idea & make it look FF-ish, who gives a crap about WoW anyway, lol
I used to play WoW for a few years after i quit FFXI, and it did have some awesome features, and its NOT a WoW copyrighted thing to have a god damn calendar, i use it everyday for planning my own RL week / month.

And for the love of Carby, give us the option atleast for now to set a "LS Message" until we hopefully get a proper ingame calendar.

I hope they dont plan on reducing the LS member size based on what was said before. Just wouldnt make sense.

A LS improvement id like to suggest would be to allow the leader to promote or kick players who are not nearby. Aswell as allow to do this while a character is offline.

I'd also like to add that I would love to see linkshell quests... Again (don't know if player run companies will feature the items I've listed) but in the mean time, I'm going to say linkshell, as I think it would benefit everyone currently.

I would love to see linkshell quests that unlock perks like a linkshell bank, or other perks for having the linkshell equipped.

Of course, equipping the LS you might be subject to an ls tax when doing certain things, and at the same time not having it equipped would exclude you from the tax, as well as perks.

Anyway, I hope we get more information soon in regards to LS features that they want to introduce.

My thoughts on the linkshell vs company vs Grand Company are this.

Linkshells are chat channels restricted up to 128 members at a time. We can have up to eight. In FFXI, linkshells became a way of coordinating activities and fulfilled the role of guild/clan/legion. This mentality carried over into FFXIV, thus people treat linkshells as a "guild". You may have a linkshell to find adventuring groups, one for crafting, one for International friends, one for role-playing, one for talking anything under the sun and kick back, etc.

A Company is an official instantiated "guild" where exclusivity is expected. You only join one at a time. You are a name, a presence, in Eorzea, not just a pearl.

Company growing in rank. A company level.

Company leves or quests that contribute toward company level and may provide "generic" company seals.

Company choosing rewards based on company level that benefit company members in a multitude of non game-breaking ways: (i.e. +10% gil/seals from leves, +10% xp from monsters, -10% on airship/chocobo/repair fees, -10% weakness duration, -10% durability damage on death)

Company ranks with customizable title. (i.e. a company may have a Leader may be called the Archmage, an officer may be a Wizard, and a new recruit an Apprentice).

Company banks where permission can be set for donation and retrieval based on member rank.

Company management tools to allow for a company message of the day, online/offline notification, invite regardless of distance, removing a member whether online or offline, promoting another to leader, promoting to company rank, setting privileges per rank, etc.

Company seals can be used to promote Company level, to purchase unique rewards, or craftable materials.

Linkshells should have the ability to quickly chat between the different shells, such as /1 /2 /3.

Linkshells should not adjust chat position when a player is no longer part of a linkshell.

Linkshell management to allow remote invite and removals. Offline players should be removable.
