What additional character options could be added with "new faces"?

I actually think unlinking the Au Ra face and horns would be amazing. I love the horns that are tied to the.....old face and I can’t bring myself to use that face just for the horns.

Different horns/scale patterns on the Au Ra heads would probably be the easiest with this style of implementation. I'd like the older races to have nicer facial textures like Viera but I think it would be jarring if theres 4 older style heads and then 1 thats hd lol

That's the thing - I don't think it's technically possible for them to unlink the two. But it would be technically possible for them to add a second copy of each face with different horns attached to the second copy of the face. You still wouldn't have free choice of all of them (unless they can add three extra copies of everything) but it would give you an option outside of the current ones without having to redesign anything about the template.

Viera beards definitely needed more work.

It's an inelegant solution but I guess they decided it made more sense to add faces than to rework the system. If they really want to continue down that road the right thing to do would be to duplicate all the male faces of most races with stubble variations.

For me personally I want more scar options, especially for female character. It would also be nice to have fangs on my Sun Seeker. As someone mentioned another obvious option is Au Ra horns/face combinations. I mean let's just give everyone 50-100 face options rather than put in the effort to make a better system. :D

This for sure. I love my elezen so much - but after swapping to male viera for fun, it's painfully apparent how much higher quality the new races are. The eyes, noses, even eyebrows all have much better detail and texture :( I really hope they focus on upgrading the old races next.
