It's a free market. If someone wants to sell something for cheaper than you, then that's their right. There is no arbitrary inflexible "true price" for a given item that you can declare from which no one is allowed to deviate. You may think it's dumb that someone sells something for far cheaper than you think it's worth, but what if they have a cheaper source for their materials, such as if they've worked out a supply arrangement with some gatherers? There's no golden rule that "item X is 150k, any less than that is undercutting." If it costs a crafter less to make something and he can make it in greater volume than you, he'd be stupid not to try to sell it for cheaper than his competition, and he may very well be trying to drive the competition (i.e., you) away. You need to either compete with their prices, wait it out if you don't think they're in it for the long haul, or deal with it.
For as much as all of the FFXI players seem to like to make themselves out to be rugged individualists, one of the things that struck me most when I started playing was how many of them bawl about being undercut.
