so when do the white knights stop making excuses for 2002?

Figured I'd choose one of these to post in.

If I am paying for a service, I expect that service to provide. If I am having a bad day as it is, I will probably bitch if I do not have access to the service I am paying for.

I'm kind of used to this shit though so it's kind of an over my head type of deal. I expected long ass log-in queues. Just seems toxic to tell consumers that they're 'entitled' ... because what, they're not entitled to get what they pay for? Lol.

Now, onto my own personal dilemma -

I got to position number #1 in the queue and got hit by a 4004 error. I got back in within the same thirty seconds-ish and I was 3000+ in queue.

ggwp, fuckin' broke me! I'll try again tomorrow.

Have not seen anyone defend the 2002 just only pointing out the company explained why you are seeing the 2002 error...... however been seeing the same saying they arnt sure why there no save que spot if you log back in with in a x amount of time

Basically the TL-DR is: they currently have more players trying to log in than the game has ever had, ever.

Still, I agree with most that 10-hour waits while being lobby kicked to the back of queue repeatedly should not be considered an acceptable condition for a paid service. Blame Covid, supply chains, increased new/returners, blame the tooth fairy and Santa Claus all they want, but it shouldn't make it an acceptable state. They do at least appear to be giving an honest effort to deliver the service though. Tbh I wouldn't want to be working there right now, they're prob freaking the F out more than the players are lol.

so it looks like my personal ordeal is over, after my last post ive been booted twice again but in an act of mercy i managed to get back in and keep my place in line and currently at 371. to reiterate my issue: its not the long queues that are the problem, its the booting back to end of the line that is the problem

*edit* forgot to mention, its been just a little over 6 hours

The right thing would have been to rent servers, throw money at the problem or plan ahead in some way or another. This was foreseeable. I'm sure the creative direction of the game had nothing to do with the hardware concerns. They work hard. They're the reason we put money into the game, but the money does not go back into it proportionately. The hardware concerns were ignored or the people who make those decisions figured it was not worth it.

I actually mildly resent the people who are responsible for making this a playerbase issue. The people who have played this game have been kind to me. It pisses me off that they're getting a bad rep for being selfish for not wanting to deal with an over hour long queue just to take a particularly long dump. Give me a break. This is a server/hardware issue, not a question of ethics for us. If anything, the ethics are lost on the people who've made so much and decided it was okay to force us to put up with this.



The launch was almost 24 hours ago. Who are the "first-loggers?" There has been a consistent 4K+ login-queue the entire day, other than reports of like 7 AM.

Prime time Friday when everyone gets off work will of course be worse than a 1am launch and it will be more tomorrow because weekend. I know plenty of people who can't stay up all night to do first log ins, the majority of people need to log in during normal hours.

Yeah lol That's kinda a wild statement rn, play on a smaller server... They're all full. All full to capacity and have queues. In one of the Lodestone notes, it even mentioned they opened up the "Visit Another World Server" via the right-click on the character selection, but when you try it, it says the World Visit Service isn't available.

2002 was a pretty bad year....

I cant remember a single MMORPG that really got a smooth start for a new Launch or Expansion. I dont think it will be possible without literally doubeling the Servers just for the first week, which is of course an insane investement without and payback in the end.
