Please consider option to exclude unlocked (not yet completed) contents from Roulette

OP's suggestion would benefit the game more than your solution.

Your solution means they don't enter that roulette. Which means they don't get put into any duty. So if more people are queuing directly for the ones they do have unlocked, they face longer queue times if the person not wanting to do the optional dungeon is a healer or tank.

So if say a healer is not wanting to enter Kugane Castle without their friend but has unlocked it in anticipation of their friend coming on that night for them to do after they did their roulettes that night (assuming Kugane Castle didn't pop in the roulette). If said friend didn't come on and no one who was queueing for Kugane Castle directly, then the healer not entering the roulette actually slows queue progress down for everyone else.

Also what does your solution offer people in roulette that the OP's doesn't? Either solution means the people who are queuing for the optional dungeon aren't getting in any faster. Your solution just also happens to slow down people queuing for anything else that that player has completed that's in that roulette.

This option would make me more likely to go do the blue quests that unlock dungeons knowing that I would be able to go into the dungeons or trials when I'm ready to tackle new content and not just wanting to do a duty that I've done a number of times. Because I like to watch a video right before entering a new dungeon so that I know what I'm getting into. I may not necessarily have time the day I'm starting the quest to do the dungeon and I may not for a couple of days. And I may not want to do something new when I have time for queuing and doing a dungeon. Sometimes I gambled, especially if it was an alliance raid as so many people cheese their iLvl to try to get Labyrinth.

I addressed all that. Requiring people to have all available duties unlocked before granting them roulette access would increase the number of people available for more duties instead of allowing people to focus their roulettes on a small number of duties.

They can avoid the duty by not running their roulette today or leaving the duty if their roulette puts them in it.

So they're supposed to make their group wait even longer for someone to join a roulette who has duty in progress checked if they don't want to run something? Or be forced to do something they don't want to do?

You still haven't explained how your solution for the OP's problem isn't worse than the OP's suggestion. Your mentioning of requiring all contents unlocked to do content is, imo, unrelated to the OP's suggestion beyond your own personal reason for not agreeing with the OP's suggestion. As it's completely different from the OP's suggestion, I would feel it should have its own topic to discuss its pros and cons and not be in this thread discussing the ability to exclude uncompleted duties from roulette.

Either your solution or the OP's suggestion ends up with the group with the optional content waiting the same amount of time.

It's a win-win for either group for the OP's suggestion.

The group wanting to do the optional content or open to doing the optional content get grouped together. The people who don't want to do said optional content is not forced to do that content. And a lot of people don't perform at their best when doing something they don't want to do. It also keeps the optional group from having to wait again for a filled group if the person leaves immediately. Might not be so bad if they are DPS or are in a 24 man raid, but if they are tank or healer in 4 or 8 man content then they would have to wait for a tank or healer who has duty in progress checked to come in. Or for them to leave and requeue. Which if only one had queued directly and that person was a DPS then they're waiting the 15+ minutes again for another set of players to join in.

I also still don't understand how it is abusable. It's not like your solution doesn't have the same outcome - the people queued for the optional content still have to wait the same amount of time in order to get into the dungeon. And maybe even longer if they get dropped into a group with someone willing to quit if they get that content. Yes, that person who left has a 30 minute lock out, but that doesn't make the group they left get a replacement any quicker.

I got into a group one time for a low level dungeon while I was leveling an alt - DPS class. I had queued directly for this dungeon as it was for the MSQ. Tank immediately leaves. Group decides to disband after not getting a replacement tank instantly after putting our group up for getting a replacement. I had to go wait another 15+ minutes to complete this dungeon. Yes, this would not have been solved by this solution as the tank was not a new player I don't think. But if this had been optional content and that tank had been new to the content and had not wanted in roulette, the OP's suggestion would have kept him out of the group and we would have had a higher chance of getting a tank that was open to doing that content and I wouldn't have had to wait an additional 15 minutes to complete the content.

This is less a problem with DR:Leveling because there are only a few ARR dungeons, one HW dungeon, and one SB dungeon that are optional. But as I said before, 77% of the Lv50 and Lv60 dungeons are optional, which means there are many people who have access to DR:50/60/70 who can't even make it into over 3/4 of the roulette content, who are getting roulette rewards without actually helping fill queues for most of the duties in the roulette. If the roulette required everyone to unlock all the dungeons available to them up to their current MSQ progress, you would have many more tanks with optional duties in their roulettes and you wouldn't have to wait long for a replacement.

DR 50-60-70 should give more rewards imo or have a role bonus
