yes, I know that, I'm more interested though in how it is actually going to play out and if SE will put a lot of effort into make PvP successful in this game. I know my little bro for example won't even touch the game unless there is pvp haha.

I wonder what is in those ruins. Think they might put a primal in there? (just stuff to think about lol)

We need an Open World PvP server with partial looting.

there should be different pvp modes. warcraft actually had a pretty good pvp modes. if we have a capture the flag or domination pvp type areas, ill never leave it lol

PVP will mostly be based around the "Free Companies" (think Guilds in other games that are aligned with one of the Grand Companies). I hope they have a few different types to keep it interesting...I'm fairly certain they are putting more thought/time into FFXIV's pvp than FFXI's.

I might be interested in a PVP world also, depends on how they would plan on implementing it. I would never be interested in a system where players lose gil/loot though.

No, just no

Issue with pvp is it's hard to balance it alongside pve content. In order to do one or the other right you pretty much have to design two different games.

I would love to see pvp type tournaments and maybe some open world type pvp in certain areas, but only if they somehow figure out a way to keep it from affecting the pve side.

Some games are meant for pvp, some games aren't. FFXIV is just not a pvp kind of game, its mechanics are not made for pvp and are not pvp friendly. Final Fantasy isnt even a pvp franchise, so I think its silly ppl are even requesting it. I only like PvP in games that are good for pvp. I'll play GW2 for my PvP fix whenever i need it, but I have no desire to see PvP in FFXIV because its just not that kinda game.
