I know this pain so well. Mass rezzing half the alliance after failing doom is PAIN but I don't think having Tetra would really help much in that regard lol.

Honestly it's kind of nuts that stuff like this wasn't already in the game. Returned to the game earlier this year after quitting shortly post 3.0 and man, leveling healers was probably the worst experience I've had despite WHM having been my ARR main. Definitely doesn't feel like anyone on the dev team really gave much thought to the leveling experience or lower level play when they gutted the healers. (WHM's definitely bad, but AST was particularly infuriating... all those dead no-new-skill levels followed by getting 3 ogcd group heals at once instead of spreading them out...)
I had an idea that might make SCH vets mad, but I think it may meet all the criteria both the devs and healers who wanna heal more with GCD heals in terms of syncing class design with battle design. Why not have WHM be the dot heavy job with a weak nuke while keeping all its other systems(lilies, overall reliance on GCD heals in place, etc.) This, if paired with three oGCD strong healers, minimizes the loss of GCD healing on WHM. If the dots have a lower mp cost, that could mitigate the MP problems WHM will have in EW, and allow for WHM to not be actively punished in raids for healing.
The only problem with this in relation to WHM is how you would need to adjust a lot of potencies to make it work properly. If they dropped the Potency of Glare down to 250 then gave it Aero 3, Dia and whatever other DoT, what's to stop WHM from not just being the strongest Healer in terms of damage once you throw Misery into the mix
It's handily accepted that BLM outdamages the other two magic DPS because damage is the only thing it brings to the table.
I have no idea why WHM bringing the most personal damage is something to avoid at all costs. It's all the job is *allowed* to bring, by design fiat. If it does less damage, then it's just straight worse than the others.
I don't think Fluid Aura should have the AoE effect in low-level content. I'm more suggesting something like how PLD's Spirits Within is getting upgraded to an AoE version in EW. That's what I was suggesting with Fluid Aura -> Pearl (as well as dropping the damage portion from Assize). I realize this really drops WHM's AoE damage potential, but I also hope the MP and return of Assize as a healing tool will make up for it elsewhere.
I'm not opposed to WHM doing more damage than the other healers, I'm just trying to avoid a situation like SAM completely outclassing MNK and DRG in terms of Damage vs Utility. They can increase WHM's damage, which I am trying to do with these suggestions as well, but they can't just go buffing it to kingdom come either.
Agreed, though I wish the job balancing team shared that caution evenly. This is the same team that said both "Oh no, we'd better make sure we spread out Proshell! Having exclusive access to a small magic defense increase might make WHM mandatory!" and "Eh fuggit, 20% Balance passes the laugh test right?"
It's what happens when you don't have a Dev for healers sadly. Wish I could post these suggestions on the JP servers since that's the only server that seems to garner any response from the devs but I can't write in Japanese and using a 3rd party translator might not get the intended points across.
