BLM's AoE DoT is a bit different. WHM could use Aero III with Aero II. Thunder II/IV and Thunder I/III overwrite each other.

+1 for Miasma and Bane coming to Scholar
Would make AoE infinitely more interesting than AoW spam
I would settle just for bane by itself. Give it to all of the healers actually. At this point it’s just a major inconvenience to have to dot every mob in a wall pull. Or make all of the dot abilities themselves a “whatever radius aoe that bane was” solely for the sake of dungeons, and to save a button. All of the dps jobs get better and better aoe every patch and expansion, and I don’t play tank, but I believe they do too. So a slight qol would be nice.
I prefer Shadowflare honestly but I'd settle for anything at this point.
I agree with you 100%, I especially miss shadowflare, but their fear of button bloat and needing to leave room for future additions has me doubting ever getting any of them back. Plus the complete shutdown of any complexity returning as per the live letter. They will forever live on my dead ability hotbars though.
What's wrong with one healer doing more damage anyway? This is a game where you can switch your job instantly. Need the big heals, go WHM. Need regens, go AST. SGE has its nuke+heal thing, and scholar could just shield, have the weak fairy regen, and do DOTs.
I feel like there's room there for hybrids like that. With 4 healer jobs, not each of them has to function the same.
I can see why tanks have been homogenized to a degree, but I don't think that's necessary for the healers, as long as the bases are covered.
A strong ST, a regen, an AOE, an instant. That's what ALL heals in this game fall under anyway.
Could even add some more healing to DNC while you're at it, then you have a DPS with some healing, a healer with some DPS. Paladin can already heal the party/main tank. Add a healer that can offtank some trash (sort of like a D&D Cleric), and we have it all.
I don't understand this obsession with dots. I'd much rather have something interesting involving the fairy instead of another occasional Broil replacer.
