What's next for new jobs after Endwalker.

I agree. I main DRK and maybe switch to GNB sometimes and speaking about tanks its kind of hard to think about a new tank job in this fantasy world. Tanks need a lot of work arm to make them more engaging and different from one another. I would also like to say, waiting 2 years at least to get major class or role changes is total BS. I would rather they stop for now with reaper and sage and double down on their current roster. If it means less frivolous patches I'm down with that since end game is when you really feel how bad/good your job feels and obvious issues need to be addressed in good time.

So, to go back to the main topic you tried to initiate: I think that we will get 2 Limited job patches in 6.X. Just like we did in 5.X. Which means: Beastmaster in 5.45.
And I agree on the caster and scouting for 7.0. I am betting on time mage for the caster, as I can see it being an easy fit for a 'DoT' based DPS (which is a niche that will need to be filled for sure)
Scouting is either going to be a job brand new to XIV (which I think could use some sort of whip indeed), or it could be the Mystic Knight some other suggested in many other threads.

I think getting a handful of jobs reworked throughout the expansion is totally fine. (NIN, SMN and MNK all got reworked a bit in 5.X)
It's not like any of the jobs are unplayable...

Personally, I thought of geomancer and puppetmaster because geomancer has already been established around Stormblood and could be interesting to visit a new location and meet a group of them in said location, and as for puppetmaster, I feel the whip is a good choice of scouting weapon, and above that, they could use mammets as their reaper/machinist-esque minion, since mammets are already well established as well in usefulness in this world. So it made somewhat some sense to me. Especially since both jobs also hail from Ivalice, which we're quite intrinsic to at this point. I can see it being different however if they want to focus on different FF sources a far as jobs go, which is a fair assumption as well.

As for the argument of reworking on jobs and making them more interesting, the dev team already knows they want to build upon shadowbringers' model, right? It's a matter of working the kinks overtime, and from the job action trailer, they do want to extend and think out the evolutionary aspect of those jobs moving forward. (Though bard and scholar need some love still, as well as a few other quirks from other jobs.)

As for limited jobs, I've actually posted before about an idea for mimic, and how I'd envision it being a job that instead of being dependent of hunting mobs to get skills, you'd have to level certain jobs to certain thresholds to get some of their skills (due to the fact mimics are specialized in using other jobs abilities lore-wise). So say you wanted holy from white mage, you'd have to level up white mage up to the level they get holy first. And their level could be dependent on the average level of all your jobs combined, this way, it would be a minigame that would incentive people to unlock their jobs to get good at and make your own kit. Plus, it would cater to that side of the community who would enjoy building their own skill set and builds and do more experimental runs on content. That being said, yes, beastmaster is also quite popular so no doubt they'll be looking at that eventually for a limited job.

Since Yoshida clearly said that Puppetmaster and Beastmaster are good candidates for the limited job system, I would not expect them to be standard job.
Unless he says something like "no more limited job in the future" of course...Mimic as a limited job would make sense but I'd rather have it learn abilities from PvP.

And about Geo being established around Stormblood. Sure.
But time magic was already established around Heavensward ;)

I think it might be a neat idea if they made more use out of the job and base class concepts to implement some sort of hybrid classes to some degree. Give a marauder the soul stone of a berserker and it goes from a tank to a big club wielding DPS that takes the core concept of what marauder was and spirals it off into a powerhouse rather than a defensive wall. Slap a swashbuckler stone on that rogue and instead of being a ninja you find yourself wielding a gun and a sword like several NPCs do with a mid-range focus that dances in and out of melee like a physical RDM with more of an angle on debilitating your enemy.

I expect we'll get Judge as either a new Tank or a 3rd Maiming Job in whatever future content continues the Dalmasca storyline set up in the Ivalice raids and Bozja. The other major(?) loose end that comes to mind is the Void quests, but... Reaper is already Void-themed as hell, so I'm actually not sure what kind of Job that would include

I almost forgot about Time Mage; that would be a really fun caster job whose spells could focus on augments or increasing the lengths of other attacks.

To be fair, the only reason I don't consider Time Mage is because it felt more fitting for a class pre-astrologian to begin with. It would've been more fitting to start at level 1 in the Observatorium, move into ishgard, and advance at 30 to astrologian, since both places butt heads about the best method of reading the future and have a similar methodology to their jobs. But now that they're not even focusing anymore on classes for a very long time, it seems pointless.

If means to even out the roster, then I'd presume the next jobs would be a Ranged DPS and a Ranged Caster.

I'd take out any pet job, due to the obvious code/combat limitations that make such idea for a job (micromanaging 2 or more entities) not a good deal for the main game content.

Reaper and Sage (just not the name) are concepts unique to XIV, so for the next ones I think they can go once more borrowing fan favorite jobs from the franchise. I would presume the candidates to the roles:

Gambler - Ranged DPS that uses darts, cards... or heck, even a chain whip
Gunslinger - Ranged DPS dual wielding 1h pistols
Geomancer - Since WHM is having more emphasis on holy magic, this one wields all elements destructively. Uses an 1h mallet and bell
Mystic - A caster focused on dot management, curses and hexes. Uses maybe dolls like Lulu from FFX, or a far-eastern magic item as foci.
Time Mage - A caster focused on dots and with some supportive magic. No idea on the weapon... maybe a wand?

The idea of Mystic Knight / Sorcerer would be neat (FFV, imbuing weapon with elemental magic), but given the fact that we have 5 melee jobs already, I think it's unlikely for another one until the roster is more even.
