As far as the rewards go, they rotate the rewards so we don't just get every year a glamour. So mount collectors also have their fun and starlight this year will give us a glamour then i assume.
It's really not that hard to understand how this rotation works...
Sure, some seasonal events are more forgettable than others, but I don't get the impression the overall quality curve is trending down. There have always been some events that were much better/worse than others. Make It Rain Campaign just now was a lot of fun, though in an ideal world the mystery attached should have been an actual brainteaser rather than just a checklist to unlock the only obviously correct responses in a dialogue tree. This Moonfire Faire is only average, but still well within the usual fluctuation.
As for Moonfire Faire in general though, the lack of the jumping puzzle tower for two years now really bothers me. I don't care if people could now just fly up there, if they want to get there that way, let them. It's not like there is a reward up there anyway. But racing my friends to the top was some of the most fun I ever had during a seasonal event. Just give me back my tower, flying or no, so we can repeat that with an additional "no flying" rule we can set for ourselves.
Yes ive looked forward doing the jump puzzle with my new fc mates that just joined the game, im kinda sad about it and id really hope they just turn it on again. Considering the HUGE influx of new players i dont get why they decided to not use it this year at all...
I think part of the problem is the tower course got such a mixed reaction the 2 years it was part of the Faire. Some players loved it, some hated it. Those that hated it had the event ruined for them because the lower portion was a required part of the event.
Seems to me like there's a reasonable compromise. Don't make any part of the tower course required for the event quests. Leave the Tower in place for those who enjoy the jumping puzzle. Whatever FATE does get added to the event can be moved to a different location so it doesn't overlap the start of the course. It's a good sized isle so there's plenty of room to work with.
