Idea for venues

Reading all this. People need to stop white knighting. You don't wanna go then don't. Don't mess up another person's gameplay experience (which is also against ToS) because you want to be a karen about it.

I suggested a solution that at least gets them in their own tab. Also this game is rated teen and if you think teens are all that innocent then you got a huge eye opener.

Venues hides what they are about because of white knights who take it upon themselves to report the person. The person did nothing to you but have an advertisement up in pm. That's all they did so why is anyone breaking the ToS on their end blatantly to ruin their experience.

Sorry to break it to you all but this is common place to see these now. Wasn't before covid but it is now.

What I will agree on is removing that 18+ stuff. It's pretty common knowledge what the venues are for. That doesn't give karens the right to go out of their way to report and get innocent peoples accounts get strikes or bans. You are just scum at that point doing more damage then you are good.

I would much rather see those resources go into getting blatant botting and phishing scams taken down but no..karens go after the stuff no really affecting them or their friends. Bravo karens bravo.

Second off, as far as I'm aware, SFW venues have been left alone during this whole situation aside from one dude looking for someone to fish with and maybe 1 other during the original situation with the GM that caused all of this. Since then, I have not seen a peep out of someone that had a legitimate SFW venue get reported. I can count on both hands the amount of threads that have popped up with people not knowing why they're being sent to gaol but literally advertise ERP related activities either in the literal PF or in a carrd website (which we assume now that SE is using as proof since the people involved in the venue themselves are providing the link).

Last, people will report things if they go against the ToS. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but that's not a bad thing either and insulting people for that when it LITERALLY IS AGAINST THE AGE RATING OF THE GAME is a choice. Whether or not someone chooses to do it for good reasons or bad is not anything anyone can control because no one can ultimately control how people think or react to situations. If you get in trouble, you broke a rule of the game. If you didn't, then you weren't breaking any rules. Period. Someone reporting you for a negative reason doesn't override that you were breaking the rules in the first place.

Also, before anyone brings this up: "ONLINE INTERACTIONS ARE NOT RATED" is not meant for us, it is solely for the protection of the ESRB. For example: If discussing pornography is against Game A's ToS, I can't just go into a crowded room and start screaming about it because it's an online interaction. You'll still get in trouble if someone reports you since it's against Game A's ToS to discuss those topics.

As far as the bots go btw, since I just realized you included that. People do report them, there have been people reporting the same bots for months or years now. The issue is it's incredibly hard to keep those people out of the game. You can ban them but that can be dodged with a VPN and a new account. You can perm ban them but that still has its workarounds, it just takes a bit longer. Square is basically fighting whales with too much time on their hands and enough money to burn to make dozens of alt accounts. In terms of the scams, it's the same principle as bots except we'd need people on our end to also not click on those links and give them new accounts to use. I am in several discords who put out reminders to not click on those links so the community is trying where we can.

Uh, no. Again, the Party Finder is for creating/finding parties to clear content. How about you come up with ideas for them to better the Fellowship system? RP venues don't need to be on the PF.

Actually most here are highlighting the ERP ones as a problem.

Then I pose the question: since the initial screw up by 1 GM was cleared up (where people had actions on their account reversed), how many non-ERP venues or venues that don't offer any ERP have been moderated to your knowledge?

The only ones we've seen come here have been related to ERP on some level, even some trying to hide it until they were found out.

Just I've yet to see a non-ERP venue get hit. But I think it's pretty clear ERP venues are the target for GM's.

While I get the frustration on all sides there is far more on these players side who are getting strikes and bans for a advert when they have literally done nothing else to warrant it.

As for that GM. He had pulled that twice before. That became common knowledge too. So at this point it's GM abuse.

Both sides in this need to just come to an agreement and leave each other alone. I will admit it now. I work at a RP venue but I won't advertise 18+. Just as a rp place.

As for the SFW. Unless tagged that you can pretty much guess what the place is lol. So I've come up with a workable solution for both sides and if people still want to go out of their way to report then you know at that point they are breaking tos on purpose to go after people.

As for that person who said what pf is about. Hilarious that some GM quotes popped up saying that venues were fine to have on pf. I mean I believe I heard of someone wanting to learn fishing advertising on pf and they got hit with a strike. Do you know how much that angers me. I been playing this game a long time and someone asking for legit help gets a strike on their account.

You starting to see why I said white knights need to back off. They aren't just going after venues with nsfw stuff (which I agree done need to be in advert) but a player legit looking for help. Where is it going to end?

Make a RP tab for venues. If people wanna still report then it is what it is but you all don't dictate what is supposed to be and what not is to be used especially when rp has boomed over the past year. People taking it upon themselves to purposely disrupt thousands of players for some white night purpose and what's happening is everyone is firing back.

Quit now because there are far more rpers then you folks who report. Let the tab be created. Let square make it with rules to help normal people (no nsfw mention, no 18+ mention). It's better then people blatantly causing issues for players who enjoy rp. I mean sfw rp as well and hate to tell you but lots who work at sfw aren't as sfw as you think. That venue just is...they might not be.

Let me stop you right there, because you seem to not realise something important: Its not the report that counts, its wether or not a GM considers the report warranted.

If someone report you, your PF-listing or your venue nothing is gonna happen to you - unless a GM reviews the case and comes to the conclusion that the report has merit, aka that you violated some portion of the ToS. As long as you stick to the rules of the game - which are obviously being interpreted by the GMs that they include that ERP and 18+ venues are a big no-no - you're fine, no matter how many reports are being filed against you.

So, unless your real worry is that the GMs are getting hit with an incredible hight amount of false reports, everything is well.

I'm not worried. Just my venue boss is smart and built up her venue alot so didn't want to jeopardize it. As for GM's able to make any determination. They really can't. I've seen countless and experienced countless times just how their judgment is. Recently been harassed last few days and reported it 3 times and nothings happened at all to the players doing it.

Other people have experienced this. Heck we have a known troll on aether who got away with calling people scammers (just long story) purposely then hold to that act to bait them into breaking tos to report them. He disappeared for a time then came back to do it. I had him figured out and talked to him about it. He kept to his thing then started gloating about never getting in trouble and I best watch it before I get another strike or ban. That legit told me right there a GM was protecting him. The last report I did I called it out and he stopped since.

I don't trust GM's to do the right thing these days. They seem to be more apt to punish the innocent then the guilty and save their friends butts at the same time. It was highly theorized that friends of that rogue gm were the ones who did the reports and he would push it through. I don't believe there was miscommunication at any level.

I also have another example of a GM abusing their position to save a fc from bans but I will leave that information for another time

Joking aside harassment issues require effort to investigate. Someone putting 18+ in their pf advert that is quick and easy. I doubt GM’s get paid worth a damn so we can hope and expect more from them but reality probably not going to get more.

Trust me I agree the 18+ should be removed from adverts. Don't need it ya know. Also the feet pic thing lol.that same person is on aether and crystal.they were talking about it one day here in limsa

The truth is very simple. If they're breaking the ToS with 18+ nonsense, people can report them for it, simple as that. You can whine all you want, but if the implications of a PF add, namely, ERP/18+ stuff.. then people can report them for it. It's then up to the GMs to determine whether or not there's actually actionable stuff there.. and guess what.. if it lands someone in the Mordion Gaol.. I guess the GMs agreed with the reporter.
