What irks me about Yoshida's remark is it only reflects upon a single piece of content. I'll admit, cycle phase of E11S and E12S as a whole definitely saw an uptick in healing requirement. Granted, the bar wasn't exactly high to begin with. What about all the other content? We have a new 24-man and guess what I'm doing for 90% of it? Spamming Glare. And I'm not even i520.

It isn't just the raid scene complaining about the lack of engagement for healers. Every demographic is voicing their criticism towards this iteration.

I don't even do savage raiding myself, so this is for all other content in which the healing requirements are even less. Boss fights are still scripted events that have a very strict schedule of outgoing damage. After a few runs of anything in XIV you will be able to predict exactly when you will need to use what healing skills and once you are geared better you can stop using healing abilities for nearly the entire run.

apparently worktogame put out a vid about people being able to submit questions for the live yoshi Q&A in the upcoming fanfest--i cant wait to see how few healer questions they decide to answer this time.
my money's on "if they get a hundred questions, less than five will be related to healer concerns"

just wanna call/immortalize it now.

The segment is only going to be an hour long so at most I would expect 6-10 questions. I'd put money on at least 1 being healer related seeing as how they're adding Sage, but I'd venture it's going to be "How is Sage going to play?".

Seeing as how these questions are going to be pre-screened, nothing controversial such as healer playstyle in general is going to be discussed. They'll want to hype up the new healing job.

The average Q+A session:
20 minutes of requests about housing and mogstation glamours, written by the dev team, all of which get implemented on the spot 'You get a glamour, and you get a glamour!'
20 minutes of questions on lore and Aymeric's dating life, also written by the dev team, all of which are answered with cheerful banter and 'refer to lore book'
10 minutes of time-wasting questions that most people should know the answers to
1 genuine question actually written by a player on raiding which may or may not have a semi-interesting answer
1 question about the new job which gets segued into in a 'surprising reveal'

I'm calling it already:
Q: "Healers are feeling unsatisfied with their gameplay at the moment. This is because there are only three healers and 14 flavours of black mage. What are you gonna do about it?"
A: "There are 14 flavours of black mage because we have had to subdivide casters into four different sub-sub groups. So when you look at the individual ratios of each black mage subtype, they're actually all individually equal in size to healers, such that it's fair. They also buy more mogstation glamours than you. But lo, do not fear. We have heard your desperate pleas, and we have actually designed *drumroll* a new healer. In a world first preview, let's see this special reveal! *Recanned footage of sage* *Polite applause* Please look forward to it!

"And that's all the time that we have, folks! We'll see you back in another two years for another session of real developer-player interaction!™"

If I had to guess. The only controversial question they'll answer is male Viera and female Hrothgar because they can easily dismiss it by citing how difficult it is to add new races, how they mentioned not intending to add more and that Viera and Hrothgar glamour has proven difficult.

At least maybe that would get people to stop asking about them every- oh, who am I kidding? People still ask about egi glamours.

If Astro is destined to be a WHM clone with card tricks that one needs a DPS parser to know it even exists, count me out. But if they're willing to restore any of the AST's time-altering abilities which were unceremoniously zapped in 5.0, and/or revamp the card system so that its impact is evident without (illegal) parsers, count me as skeptically interested.

Remember that Shadowbringers live letter where they spent forty minutes talking about DPS, ten about tanks, and Healers were a footnote at the bottom of the last slide and they said "whoops out of time SKIP!"?
