Agree with Wevlum. I wish people would stop rejecting everything FFXI just because it's from FFXI. Hardly anybody is looking to make this FFXI-2. We just don't need to reinvent the wheel; a lot of the fail parts of this game can be improved quickly and efficiently by SE drawing on their previous experience.
Tanaka was a rebel without a cause. He tried to make everything different, and the result was just that everything was a pain in the ass. There's a reason why some things are set in stone. In a lot of cases it's better to improve on existing ideas that work than to just make crap up as you go.
