with the world forever altered and the empire still at our gates most likely i think Yui's "Again" would be a good song for the 2.0 launch ^~^

From the 2.0 pdfs herself "One day, a massive geological anomaly suddenly appears from deep within the ground. Current players will have the opportunity to unlock the mysteries surrounding this strange, new landmark in the coming months"
When it says the coming months, I assume it means before 2.0.
For those who still need to read about 2.0... Link
I'm hoping they wont show us everything and spoil the surprise... I want to play out the story, not watch it before hand.
Game design doesn't work that way. Geometry works in all engines as it's a basic function lol, they simply rather wait for 2.0 to make it better than incorporating it with 1.x.
2005-2012 is a shitton of money spent on 1.x.Quote:
I'm not convinced they will spend a great deal of money on 1.xx so I can't see massive changes in the world map it would seem like a waste.
Geometry may very well be transferable between game engine but we aren't talking about a handful of small objects we are talking about a whole zone... lolz
The way zones work in 2.0 is very different than the way they do in 1.xx, which I already said.
Go and try and be clever and condescending somewhere else.
"Condescending", do you even know what level design is? It's objects (compatible with every client, as you know, it's just mere objects), geometry and textures. If 1.x supports this, it's very likely "2.0 maps" are compatible with it as the simple design of areas isn't specific to any engine.
They can incorporate every FFXI zone itself into XIV if they wanted to, the only thing that wouldn't transfer over is monster/npc data. This is the first time I've heard any one state level design is engine specific.
No elexia just no.
