I miss Deep Dungeons.

I miss Deep Dungeon as well. I don't really feel like it contributed that much to people not knowing their class, because people STILL don't know how to play their class, even without it. And the benefits of PotD certainly outweigh the negatives listed so far. It was multifaceted content that could serve purposes ranging anywhere from making money, leveling alts, going for a high score, getting unique glamour/mounts, etc.

And now we're losing it for a minion farm. Big bummer for me, but hopefully this new farm thing is cool and sticks longer than Ocean Fishing/Restoration does.

Any new content idea always released in an almost-dead state, or was dead 3 weeks in. Ranch will be the same. MMORPGs work my providing primary gameplay content, and THEN add some side activities that ideally mesh with main gameplay. So far, most of this expansion and especially the patches seems primarily based on adding side activities with no primary gameplay connected to them. This is particularly noticable with how Gatherer content is treated. You have like 3 different ways to just quicklevel them to max, but there are only 3 classes since forever, and nobody really understands what you need all that gathering gear for, since there is no actual gameplay other than running from node to node for those classes.

Call it ranch play but pre shb or he called it a minion farm. So I imagine maybe it’s similar to all other farm games if that’s your thing. Could be another verminion tho

I made my character Mid stormblood and I had no problem leveling my weapon in potd which was not current. Just find some balance between you and the others. Open them on the way but don't go to the opposite side of the floor for 1 chest when the next floor is unlocked.

I don’t miss it. It was the same thing each floor. The first deep dungeon was new and ok, but after hitting floor 10 I was like yeah I get it. Then hitting floor 50ish I just did t care for it. The second dungeon heaven in high or whatever its called I didn’t bother doing it after clearing 10. The developer missed a great opportunity to add puzzles/platforming and all finds of fun random activities. Why did all the floors have to be combat? Why not make some floors have mazes or a game room? Something to spice things up.

I don't miss them. They're repetitive and boring.

I too miss the deep dungeons. They were not perfect (and I disliked the story in HoH) but they were great for leveling the jobs and for having something to do with a small party. Heck I loved it the most trying to do it solo or just with a friend and somewhere in the next few months we will try it again..my only problem was always how they never tuned the first one for solo jobs and how one single DC was the end of hours of work..other than that it was finally content that I could try alone..

I loved the deep dungeons, but unfortunately I feel I've mined all the fun I can from the first two, was really looking forward to the third and was very disappointed to hear we're almost certainly not getting it till 6.something.

It was good, reasonably challenging, 4 man content. Something the game has a real lack of.
