1. It's called faction leve, but most people kinda forgot about it. Do leve to get Faction Credit, do the prequisite Faction leve then the final one you have an "NM" and they drop rune that you can exchange for Unique equipment.

The original FFXIV was a fantastic idea that was implemented in the absolute worst possible fashion. I cannot describe how excited I was to see a new FF MMO. and then...yeah.
^This.
If I hadn't been in the alpha/beta, I would have totally been stoked for battle regimens after seeing that vid. Too bad what we got was less than similar.
Still, I'm sure what they have in store for regimens will be pretty cool.
On topic, I really think they need to redo the video. Now that leves are no longer the central theme (good thing IMO), the intro vid needs to recapture what the game's new direction is about. The video showcases the echo but I believe the current CGI will leave new players, at best, confused.
Unfortunately, there's no much need to do the faction leves other than to get those drops for achievement, but not much need for that still, as you can buy the items dropped via faction leves in wards (last time I checked they were almost dirt cheap).
It's a bit of a paradox how you need to grind more leves to get faction points than you need to do for the actual Ifrit/Mog pre-quest.
Funny how SE makes you grind regional leves for 400 points needed for a NM leve and reward you with an item that now has nearly no real value. They seem to like doing stuff like that, so I'm not really surprised. . .
They do make me go like this often though:

More Faction leves with more interesting and diverse battles that drop materials for superior crafted gear would be awesome.
