FF14 Edition PS3?

Not really, nothing I have heard anyway.

but if it really does happen and if history teaches you anything, exclusive things like this almost never outside of Japan.

You could always import it for like $600 though.

If this really does happen, and if it looks nice, I might import it. My PS3 is pretty old and this is a perfect excuse to get a new one. Not that I'm planning on replacing my current PS3 or anything.

I imagine Square Enix will have to talk to Sony. After all Sony is pretty nice with freedom when it comes with cross platform play.

Another thing Square Enix can do is a promotion for the up coming Final Fantasy Versus XIII. They could probably slap on a demo of it in the FFXIV PS3 beta or something. It would be nice to have some info on Versus XIII by the way.

Oh I really want a PS3 Version. I cant wait for it, because I am not really a PC player.

Things happen Jpn only because people actually buy it. I've seen unemployed men spend the money on games/systems. It's a problem because they mooch off their family but like I said in Jpn games actually sell.

I think many people will join with the PS3 Version because not everyone has a good enough PC to play it. I had to buy a new one to play FFXIV.

Sony does not have to do a specific FFXIV version but they can do a generalized white version with FF logo on top loaded with all previous FF versions from PSN or something. We have Vs 13, X HD, and XIV due out for PS3 this year.

Ontop of that, the whole "XIV's image is tarnished so Sony won't do it" doesn't hold weight to anything because people consider XIII one of the worst FFs yet ironically I'm clearly looking at my XIII-2 PS3 >.>.

There's almost always going to be a package deal when it comes to FF in some way, XIII/XIII-2 had their PS3 consoles, FFXI was a package deal with new PS2s + HDD, FFIX was packaged with a walkthrough etc etc. Since XIV will be one of the few MMOs on PS3 it's almost guaranteed there will be a XIV special console edition for it for pre-orders or say Collectors Edition.

Also Wada is the boss basically, even Tanaka himself said XIV was unfinished and not ready for release mere weeks before it ended up getting a September release, those of us in the business world knows what happened all too well, especially if you're on a long running project and you're not allowed any more time. Also, the PS2 was (is) still going strong and was going strong even 5 years later so the PS3 isn't "too far ahead", it's settled, stabilized and in the perfect spot actually....there's almost no reason to buy a PS4 or Xbox 720/Next for example.
