When you have to use a valuable & versatile ability to make the central mechanic of your class work that's a red light right there. It just highlights the problem. Plus the potency on the abilities they butchered are laughable with the cds they put on them. I really don't understand what they were going for and to me at least it seems they put very little thought and effort into the AST class.

ASTs card buffs do not raise rDPS enough to compete with the 1.6-2k DPS difference between AST and WHM. Running an AST currently is a rDPS deficit. Even with perfect unrealistic no DPS loss perfect draws and no time loss uses of the cards.

It is..so boring..but more than likely if anything is changed it wont happen until the next expansion..

Look at the bright side of things..

I removed all 7 skills related to cards and I have no more hotbar issues when playing AST.

I don't think the dev team will revert cards to the previous status...

But New Idea:

AST keep the cards as they are but with buffed potency
Sleeve Draw turns your current card into AoE effect
Lord and Lady are reversed to damage/heal (because I want it)

But it's not the only thing AST needs right now. We need Diurnal Asp.Bene to last longer and Nocturnal Asp.Bene to heal more. We need a better Celestial Opposition (Shorter CD and Stun back). We need a better bubble. Celestial Intersection is too weak independent of sect. Horoscope could work like Plenary Indulgence. There's a lot of things to change...

First time posting in long time so hello all.
I have to agree I dont like card system at all had lot more fun on the older system down to being able to do more, and the fact that I am useing Lightspeed for sleeve draw is clunky.
Gets to point I dont care a lot the time who I give what card I just throw them out to any of the DPS in the lower level stuff and just mostly focus on the Divination windows and then lady lord cards to people.
I also feel that AST has so much down time on the cards that Divination is 180s. you end up sitting on a Divination at like 10 seconds into CD and then just lady lord spamming every 30 seconds.

Other skills bug me
Celestial Opposition - I miss my 7s stun
Redraw - I just dont like this skill with the cards Spam it 3 times on last card till you get the right card, then cry as you did not.
Horoscope - is a 3 part forget about me skill with a low potency for that you got to do to fire it off Cast Horoscope no heals - cast Aspected Helios Still no heals from Horoscope - cast Horoscope get 400 potency over 100. Most time I forget that I have Horoscope I set it up once with a Aspected Horoscope that being said its nice in stacking mechanics but I still think the potency should be like 500 or something just for how long it takes to set up and make the base level Horoscope like 200 Potency.

Considering how long it took developers to bandaid what they did to whitemage mechanics(Lilies ^_^).

Maybe this is how they balance healers out. By always making one of them feel dull, empty and left aside.

Because fishing for Balance was fun.

SCH feels plenty dull right now.

The biggest offender is that the new system feels way more frustrating than the onld one. I could work with a few bad cards, but not getting the right seals to line the AoE dps buff up is downright infuriating. Same for having only ranged DPS in your groups and constantly drawing melee cards, gimping me even further than the new system already did.

But I suppose team Speedkill is happy that they have a new meta. Wonder when that one will get old and complained about.
